  1. I am a new member of the forum, just wanted to tell everyone good afternoon. I look forward to being part of this forums community. I would like to personally thank the Administrators who got my account to finally work! I never did receive my conformation email but my account works so all is well.

    Hello All, Thank You Administrators

Don’t know why you’re quoting me from over 3 years ago to state something that has nothing to do with what you quoted.
  3. Just seen this, was wondering what the hell happened with the Subwoofers. Very unprofessional for y'alls OEM to do that to y'all...just no class. I personally will never buy any product from this OEM (If it is indeed FI) after hearing this.

Estimate of cost for sound deadening top of trunk?

If it doesn't rattle or bother you in any way then don't deaden it but down the road and more power it could rattle. Me personally I'd add a couple tiles while its all ripped up. Do you need it? Probably not but can't hurt. I'm talking a couple tiles on the bottom not the whole thing.

Estimate of cost for sound deadening top of trunk?

Thanks man for the tips, I can now add to cart off OSX but concerned to order 80+ CLD tiles and a bunch of MLV etc. when I can't even get an email back or any contact from SDS... Don is the owner of SDS I believe. I'd personally deaden the trunk base, only gonna take a couple tiles and done, forget about it, thats just me though.

Estimate of cost for sound deadening top of trunk?

Were you able to order from SDS? I'm trying to do the same but either I can't navigate their website or the site isn't working properly. Hope its working for you.

Estimate of cost for sound deadening top of trunk?

I'm not sure if SDS is in business...? Emailed them twice, no reply, can't add products on their website to cart, and even sent a PM to rudeboy on here 2 days ago again zero reply. If anyone knows whats going on with SDS please let me know. I was planning to have them help me come up with a complete package for my Camaro. Thanks

All new XCON, ZCON, & EVIL.

Thanks Mark, Aaron, Sounds like a winner to me, and I didn't think the Xcon could get any better

All new XCON, ZCON, & EVIL.

I have been off the forum for a while, but curious as to how the new Xcon 12" compares to the Xcon 12" version before it, is there any change in overall sound production? Is there an audible difference in both subwoofers, or do they both sound exactly the same, just the new version has the changes described above? I know sound is not perceived the same person to person so curious. Curious your thoughts Mark? Appreciate it man, Harrison
  10. Heres the list, I need to narrow it down to one mid woofer and one tweeter pair or maybe none of these at all. First let me go over some requirements and more about what I'm looking for. Seas Prestige ER18RNX 7" Reed/Paper Cone 45-3000Hz, 8 ohm (H1456-08) ($100 or so) Seas Prestige CA18RNX 7" Paper Cone 45-3000Hz, 8 ohm (H1215-08) ($100 or so) Seas Prestige L18RNX/P 7" Aluminum 40-2500Hz, 8 ohm (H1224-08) ($100 or so) Seas Prestige CA18RLY 7" Paper Cone 35-3000Hz, 8 ohm (H1217-08) ($100 or so) Seas Excel W18NX-001 7" Nextel Paper Cone 30-3000Hz, 8 ohm (E0042-08S) ($200 a pop) Seas Excel W18E-001 7" Magnesium Cone 40-2500Hz, 8 ohm (E0018-08S) ($270 a pop ouch) SB Acoustics SB17NRXC35-8, 6.5" Coated Paper Cone Woofer - 8 ohm ($78 a pop) SB Acoustics SB17CRC35-08 7" Woven Carbon Fiber Woofer 8 ohm ($100 a pop) Scan-Speak Revelator 18W/8531G-00 6.5" Paper Cone Woofer, 8 ohm ($230 a pop) Scan-Speak Illuminator’s Textile Dome D3004/6020-00, 4 ohm ($120 a pop) Seas Prestige 27TFFN/G Textile Dome Tweeter with Grill 2.5-30khz (H1396-04) 4 ohm ($50 a pop) My head unit is a CDA-9887, I'm going to be imprinting which Ive read a lot of info on. To my understanding when imprinting it will choose my crossover point for the subwoofer and midwoofer, this is automatically done and not controllable from what I've read. So with that said I've seen guys installs where it crossed their sub and mid @40Hz, I've seen 50Hz and even up to 80Hz. This clearly is a concern so the midwoofer needs to be able to play low which all the ones I listed can. Some say Imprint honors the crossover point for the midwoofer and tweeter so say well shoot for 2.5k-2.8k crossover for the tweeter selection. Tweeter selection list is very small so far, honestly mostly due to depth of the tweeter and I haven't really found a lot that will fit for where I plan on putting them which is into the lower A-pillers by the front of the dash setup to fire in a crossed patten slightly up toward the windshield some what. This is so post to be the ultimate sweet spot for a 4th gen camaro according to some of the SQ guys with 4th gens, they say the staging and imaging is 99% as good as its going to get with not running active so with active and imprinting I will see how sounds to me… The mid woofers will be mounted in the doors in the stock location which I believe would be infinite baffle, there is no room for an enclosure. Also a 7" will fit, the stock size was a 6.75". I could list more mid woofers especially from Scan-Speak but I think I have enough listed with a good range of prices throughout the list. I would love to know why the hell some of these cost so much more especially the Seas Excel line. I'm seeing basically all the midwoofers I'm finding have a QTS of around .3-.4, I'm guessing these will work but I cannot find any .7 or up midwoofers made specifically for an infinite baffle install. I'm assuming the QTS around .4 will be fine. I can post up the graphs if needed of each driver. The subwoofer and everything else for the install is in my signature. The Xcon will be sealed! For my tastes in music I am a extreme "technical" metal head but also listen to classical, some rap, electronic. I especially like pink floyd…now thats SQ material. The whole goal for this entire sound system is to reproduce music the way the artists recorded it. I am sure I will be doing multiple imprint runs. Hoping to get the drivers and their placement correct. Thanks guys, lets get this list narrowed down
  11. Well it won't let me upload any more photos from the iphone so guess those will do. Weird that it lets me upload more off the MacBook.
  12. Thank you gentlemen for the kind words and condolences. She's in a better place now. I finally found time to take pictures of the drivers. I'm very happy with the build quality of the excels and illuminators. The tweeters are much smaller than I thought they would be which is a good thing. I am very anxious to get these installed along with the other hundreds of parts... Other things have to come first though, fixing the broke down beater truck first priority right now.
  13. I was going to say if you did then something strange is going on here… Sounds like you got some serious projects going on, my money would be going mostly into the house projects, I would image thats where you and your family spend most of y'alls time. Having the speaker closet is a major plus, all quality stuff I am sure of that. I haven't been on for a while my Grandmother died unexpected, got the flu in the nursing home and she couldn't recover from it. We lost her 1/14/17. My Grandpa and dad are taking it pretty hard, her and my grandfather were married over 60 years. On a positive note I did get the Excels and Scan D3004/6020 in two Saturdays ago. They all look extremely nice quality wise, the tweeter were much smaller than I expected which is a good thing. I post some pictures up when I have time here.

I only buy quality products, I don't buy junk shit full of fillers either. As far as TrueNutrition I've never heard of them. I might have ordered from them before though before the ban, honestly can't remember. I went wild and stocked up on about 10 different compounds. I'll give the site a look, If they have everything I need I'll place an order. I've been with Bodybuilding.com for so long like 10 years or so they hook me up 10% off each order, but I'll be honest they have gone down hill a little and prices did go up some. Honestly I feel bad for the people who still shop at GNC biggest rip off store in the US. LOL
  15. I wish I had the stocks to show you pictures of they were rusted to shit also. Seems ares failed for different reasons. I'm shocked to see you running JL… but I'm guessing this is on a boat being outside for 6 months of the year.
  16. You should be fine my Camaros drain holes were plugged so that more than likely contributed to the cones deteriorating and tearing on the stock speakers.
  17. I should be fine hopefully, the inside of my Camaro doors have 3 drain holes in them to drain water that gets in there. Sense it's a 1998 model over time dirt and grime, small rocks even broken glass (previous owner) had gotten in there and clogged the holes in one door resulting in water just sitting in there draining/evaporating very very slowly. My stock speakers cones were not coated and they did deteriorate evenly ripping the cones. Go news is for planned rainy days i will more than likely drive the beater truck. 500+rwhp with 3.89's and NO traction control isn't the safest to drive in the rain. I cannot wait for these drivers to come in will post up pictures when there here this Saturday. I am super excited about the Excels and the D3004/6020!

This is the only store I will order from. They move so much product there supplements are the freshest possible from the manufactures. They ship Fedex Express and only charge regular ground. I got a $300+ order from Wisconsin to Houston to my door in less than 24 hours and only paid $9 bucks. Now that says something right there.

Excellent progress man! With the dedication you have given, and you have a good structure to build, I'd highly suggest bodybuilding. You don't have to turn into Jay Cutler, but when I body build its the best I've ever felt or looked in my life. Its awesome the more muscle you have the more fat you will burn even at rest, which means cheating on the diet here and there isn't really a problem. Build for strength not just size, strength can equal size if you want it to.
  20. You are absolutely right! I had made up my mind but was unable to pull the trigger do to my EXTREME OCD making me contradict myself over and over, over the extra $200 but with the W18NX being coated I feel this is the right choice for my application. No more what ifs or battles in my brain, It's done. Seas Excel Nextel W18NX-001 and the Scan-Speak D3004/6020 are officially ordered! I now need to update my signature.
  21. I should have known, a full speaker closet is a dead give away. Your absolutely right about upgrading. 95% of the time when the Camaro is on and I'm driving things won't sound the best, but the 5% of the time it's off and I feel like just hearing perfection (as long as panels don't rattle) I will be able to do so. I over looked one very important thing regarding both the W18NX and the ER18RNX. The W18NX cone and suspension are coated with Nextel the ER18RNX is not coated, I feel the coated should hopefully last longer in the doors when exposed to humidity, the paper cone on the ER18RNX had me worried with durability after exposed to damp/humid interior of doors. Hopefully with the new weather stripping for the doors it will help keep it drier. I just bought the W18NX and D3004/6020 from Madisound it's official, done deal! To me the extra $200 is worth it so I quit festering over this decision, it's done. I had no idea Erin was not as experienced with the testing as the other guy from audio excite with 30+ years under his belt. They both know way more than me thats for sure and I would say respectfully ///M5 you know more than them both If I am unsatisfied (which I doubt) with the W18NX I will pull them and use them for a 3 way cabinet project. Again ///M5 Thank you for your time, help, and knowledge you have provided me. I truly do appreciate it man!
  22. Happy new years fellow members! After much thought, research and importantly meeting my own requirements for my application I've decided to go with the Seas Excel W18NX-001 for the midwoofers and ScanSpeak D3004/602000 for the tweeters. Any thoughts on my selections are more than welcome before I officially buy them. I really looked hard at the ER18RNX but a lot of measurements http://www.audioexcite.com/?page_id=2113 the tester said crossing above 2k is well not optimal. I found the some similar examples with the SB Acoustics midwoofers, after they were tested they were not recommended to be crossed above 2khz. Distortion being the problem with the drivers oboe 2khz. Now I wouldn't mind running them if I had room for large format tweeters, Ive faced the facts the large formats for the most part can be crossed lower. If I did run the ER18RNX is it worth it to save $200 over the W18NX but deal with more distortion??? More importantly (very subjective) do you think I will even be able to hear it? The tester who measured the D3004/602000 does not advice crossing it below 2.5khz on a 12db octave slope to play it safe. Heres some good measurements of the drivers. A lot of this information I am still trying to decipher but looks pretty damn good to me. http://medleysmusings.com/seas-w18nx-001/ and http://medleysmusings.com/scan-speak-illuminator-d3004602000-tweeter-testing/ It should be known to the community I am extremely OCD, real OCD which makes decision making very hard for me especially when dealing with complex things…hence putting an entire audio system together and having things be correct or mesh better before equalizing or playing with steeper slopes. Thanks guys
  23. Notorious, I really appreciate the feedback on the ER18 paired with your tweeters. The more I read and research the more things make sense. Power for the tweeters being one of those things, learned the lower you cross them the less power they will handle, part of the reason you have them on 40WRMS. I have also learned with the 4th order slopes the system becomes harder to control as well. Active will be a learning experience but I feel confident going that route instead of passive will pay off to my ears in the end. I think I'm scaring people with the tweeters on the C1100…It's what I got it's a good class A/B amplifier just going to keep the knobs turned way way down for obvious reasons. I haven't bought the midwoofers or the tweeters yet but plan to soon….A new fuel system for the camaro just set me back over 1k.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Regarding lights go with anything within your budget, the more the better. lighting placement is very important, the higher the better to a certain extent. Do the whole house so light covers all 360' of your house. Now we move to raising the canopy of your trees if you have them in your yard, opens it up more for the light to shine down enlightening your property. Lighting color is also important I've personally found 5000 Kelvin Temperature light to be the best for showing the most detail, but that is subjective and ultimately up to you. Mount your HD cameras high, some in hidden areas such as a tree, also mount some low and again 360' of house. Alarm get something insanely loud but make sure your battery back up system can support that SPL for a longer duration. Also make sure the alarm going off doesn't send the dogs going nuts with their paws over there ears…it could happen. Get dogs… thieves, criminals, etc. hate dogs especially aggressive ones… Honestly dogs are your best bet but you should always have what I mentioned also if the dogs get shot. Buy key only dead bolts that go into the door frame deep, also helps to have reinforced door frames. Reason for key only is not let them break Let your close neighbors that you trust know when your going out of town so they can watch out for suspicious activity. Don't post on Facebook or social media I'm going out of town… You just made potential thevies an appointment. Keep guns and important records, jewelry, in a heavy ass safe bolted into the concrete. Windows are a major problem and hot entry point not much you can do without spending an insane amount of money, but its very important you do the key only dead bolts cause to damn near forces them to go back through the window to get back out. When at the house have you 12 gauge shotgun load cocked with the safety off! Thats right safety off! Now if you have small children in the house do not leave a gun laying around! Best you have a concealed Glock on you with 33rd mag or two wouldn't hurt. If your home and a home invasion takes place and they do shoot the dogs and do get through the door you will have little to know to to grab your gun load it, take the safety off etc. I want to make it very clear if you are home and your home is invaded they WILL kill you so you better kill them first! Regarding living in a nice neighborhood….I live in a very nice neighborhood, over the past 2 years we have had 3 home invasions, multiple vehicle wheel thefts, they were caught on camera stealing my neighbors F-350 King Ranch wheels in 45 seconds! 4 others were also hit all at once. Also had other multiple thefts of yard tools from peoples sheds, yard decorations and even 2 expensive rocking chairs very stolen off one a neighbors front porch in the middle go the day….ridiculous. I forgot to mention some one on meth or pcp can be so high that you couple empty an entire clip in them and they will NOT go down for up to 30 seconds. Buy the scatter gun. Hope this helps enlighten on how serious things can get especially in Texas, and how to better prepare you and your family. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
  25. Thank you for your feed back on the ER18. Gives me more of an idea of what they sound like, of course me hearing them in person would be the ultimate…well almost the ultimate really need them in my car to be the most accurate listening experience. Ahh if those tweeters are gone looks like you will be tweeter shopping if the Focals don't meet your expectations.
