  1. Sorry, I didn't mean to make this confusing. As a daily driver the main thing I would be draining the tablet battery from would be music. I wouldn't need a gps daily and maybe use the internet when I pull up to work a few minutes early. I was looking at the new galaxy tabs and of course the google tablet. I just need something to source my music that I can leave in the car and is always hooked up, getting in the car and then finding the aux cable for my phone is a pain, and then hooking it up and selecting music all while I am expecting calls and then I have to disconnect the phone and it is just a pain in the neck.
  2. What is OTG? My goal is to play music and use the tablet as a GPS and maybe tether it to my phone for internet radio etc. I have seen the dash docks with the charger/usb built in and I am assuming they are using USB for signal to the amplifiers? Will I need a line driver? edit: If I want to run 3 rca outputs to a 4 channel and a subwoofer channel what would be the best route without degrading sound quality a ton? Some type of rca crossover? I would think a device with 1 rca in and 3 or 4 rca out would be perfect. on the go. If you want to do what you are doing you will either need to root and use a custom Rom or deal with battery power. Plugging in a yen source and charging is not part of android. Of course the isuck products don't even have a port so they really won't work. Alright, so lets say I decide to use the audio jack and when I am charging the device it won't play music as well? I don't have any problems rooting a device I just don't quite understand why I would need to,

  4. The only dash kits for my car are ugly as hell and are known for malfunctioning. I would like to use a tablet as a "head unit". Is there any way I could use a 3.5mm audio jack to a split RCA to get a signal to a sub amplifier and a 2 channel amplifier? My stock system sucks and doesn't feature usb and I don't feel like tapping into my speakers with a line output converter.

2012 Mustang GT - nothing fancy

Kinda bringing this topic back from the dead but what dimensions are the box? And did you have to remove the trunk latch to get it to fit?
  6. The only thing that doesn't make sense to me is if all of my speakers are being powered by the amplifier then they are no longer connected to the head unit which would be providing signal to the LC2i.
  7. Son of a bitch, I made this same topic in January and didn't even realize it. The LC2i is what was recommended, so this is what I have gathered. (1. Tap into front speakers and run wires to LC2i input (2. Tap into rear speakers and run wires to LC2i input (3. Run lo-output rca to sub input on the mono amplifier (4. Run hi-output into a Y RCA adapter then to both channels on the 4 channel amplifier Do I have to use the front and rear speakers or can I just use the rear for the signal?
  8. Hello, I have a '12 mustang with the factory head unit and I want to power the door speakers and a sub. Is there a way to do this without replacing the head unit? My air controls are integrated into the same panel and there are no aftermarket options for me that look nice, and did I mention the faceplates are $300 and up? not including the double din I think a line output converter would be the normal solution but how do you get 3 sigals out of one?

Need help with a '12 mustang install

So basically I need to pull the signal from the head unit directly before it goes to the speakers? My car doesn't have a external factory amp it is built into the factory head unit. So go into one of the rear speaker wires in the factory harness behind the head unit and hook up the LOC and then run it to the aftermarket amplifier?

Need help with a '12 mustang install

See that is the problem. I am going to be powering my door and deck speakers with a 4 or 5 channel amplifier so the only wire going to the speakers will be from the amplifier so there will be no signal coming from the deck.

Need help with a '12 mustang install

Wow that looks exactly like what I need, how does it get the signal exactly?
  12. Hello SSA it has been a while! I just recently purchased a '12 mustang base model and I really need to upgrade the audio soon before I go insane. The problem is if I want to run any kind of aftermarket head unit I have to buy a $300 dash kit just to put another radio in due to the climate control and radio controls being in one panel. So by the time I get a nice double din and a dash kit it will be $600 easy. I was thinking of just running a LOC out of the factory unit and plugging that into a rockford 5-channel on some sundown components and maybe a sa12. My main question is if the LOC gets the signal from the speakers that are coming from the head unit and I replace the speaker wire going to my components running off of the amp how will the LOC receive signal from the speakers? Because the amplifier has to be getting a signal from the LOC am I correct? Am I better off just forking over the money and buying a dash kit and the head unit so I can run two amps and do this the proper way?
  13. Wow dip into 11's with a AQ12? Hopefully a saz-1000 will be plenty and they are fairly efficient from what I've seen.
  14. Well all that I have right now is a duralast gold under the hood so would that suffice for 1k rms or maybe 1.5?
  15. Sorry for asking such a basic question but I used the search feature and I can't find anything on it. I am planning a build for a BL 15 in about 4 cubes and I need to know how many RMS I can safely put out on a sundown amp with a 130amp alternator without dipping below 12v too severely.
