    Tahoe Round 2

I added this Then the UPS man came with two of this The motors looks like this The vibrations causes this Along with blowing the fi logo off I can't begin to tell you how ridiculous this setup is.... and it's only running with 1 3000D right now at .5 ohm(the other was damaged in shipping). I have ridiculous flex over my whole truck.... I even have grill flex and brake booster flex... It is beyond words. I should have it metered pretty soon... that will explain what words can not.

    Trail riding

I do have a jeep TJ for doing that kind of stuff, but 5-10mph averages get old fast, nothing like the thrill of a dirt bike Nothing wrong with that at all... when it comes down to it bikes are much cheaper to fix too! I wish mud wasn't so fun, and I wish 20hz didn't feel so good.... I would be a wealthy individual

    Trail riding

I've always preferred 4 wheels over 2..... this is what I trail ride in I enjoy working on it more than I enjoy the riding.

    Tahoe Round 2

Well I just found a reasonable deal on another 3000D so I purchased it.... I talked to someone at DC about their triple alt kits, I believe it was Mark (I'm bad with names)..... I may end up having to go this route but I'm not sure yet. Also got notification from Fi that my subs will be shipped out tomorrow!

Any sub you want. FI pic

My vote is that if he has anyone buying subs from him on alibaba he is just buying Fi subs and marking them up.

    Order Status

Thanks for the update.... I was waiting on Fi, now it's XS power One thing after another. Haha

Help me choose a new CPU!

I used to be deep into this stuff a couple of years back. It has changed so much now that I am out of the loop.

    1-18" BTL or 2-18" Xcons???

    You have NO idea.

my new dc power 270xp alt installed

3rd Sucks about your bats. I would never buy used bats for that reason. yea and my battery up front was from the same guy too. He "supposedly" restores them. I've had nothing but problems with optima batteries with all my cars. i'm done with them. Congrats on getting the best alternator produced today! Sorry you feel this way about the optimas.... mine have been going strong for 2 years. I swear by them

    Just ordered a FI X 10"

If it's from Fi, of course it's good.

    1-18" BTL or 2-18" Xcons???

P chamfer is automatically included in cooling... You DO want cooling, it increases the thermal capacity of the sub and allows it to run cooler You DO want the HiXmCoil, it ads xmax and from personal experience it DOES make the sub much more intense Universal.... you only want it if you'd ever have to recone the sub to a different coil resistance (for wiring changes) I have had what you are doing. You will absolutely love the 3k + BTL sickkkk....thanks for all of your help No problem, you will now have the power to turn heads, shake anything around you, and control your heart beat..... use your new found power wisely... well you will but what's important is how big of a smile your going to have the first time you hit that crazy low bass note and stuff goes flying inside your vehicle.

    1-18" BTL or 2-18" Xcons???

Should've read my post. Unless you are just doing this to raise your post count here is the answer.... You will make up for your lack of power (even if you don't have a lack of power you won't need AS MUCH power to reach the mechanical limits of the sub) with as large of an enclosure (within recommended specs) as you can build. Do a single BTL 18 There ya go. Saves you some coin, less strain on your electrical system, everything is good. Decision time is done.

Can someone from DC Power Contact ME!!!!

Rob your awesome. Instead of recommending you 100% to everyone like I have been doing, I will now recommend you 1000%.

    why is it?

It's a common sickness.... try waiting for a month if you ordered an N2... they still haven't shipped, and when they do it will take a week for them to get to your house. Now that's where the grey hair comes in

1 18 inch BTL, bam your done. Now order it, fab the box, hook it up and drum! Your Welcome!

    Tahoe Round 2

In my mind the amp doesn't just realize it's and .5 and blow..... I believe people keep their electrical under par and with the lower resistance the amp consumes more power.... the lower the voltage the "slower" the power is moving and therefore more power (amperage) is needed. This stresses the internals of the amp and puts them under high stress. My goal is to stay around 14.x volts to keep the amp healthy. I obviously can't do this with additional batts (since the 12v batts float around 12.5) so I will likely need additional alternator power. I don't know if I listed this before, but I will likely be acquiring an additional 3000D and run both at 1ohm, which seems less risky to me. No matter what route I go, the amps will be running under the most optimal conditions I can provide.... yes that even means lowering the gains from their optimal position (wattage wise) if need be.

  22. Initially the connection was tight (not overly tight since it had a lock washer)... I believe a years worth the vibrations loosened it. And since I was so used to the system I always just put the key in my truck and drove... never looking back to check on the system. But now I could easily see it reaching over 1000 Fahrenheit with the consistent small archs. I've never had this problem before, but you live and learn. I will keep a check up on my next set up
  23. This was all caused by a loose connection. I had a shunt in between the battery and the amp so I could watch the current draw at all times. The connection on the amp side of the shunt got a little loose, and well it pretty much melted the wire into one big strand. I didn't shoot a picture of the connection, but you could tell it got hot. I know that the piece looks like Solder, but I assure you 110% it was CCA KNU wire. This time I'll tighten it up a little more And I cut another 3/4 inch further, I don't know what temperature it got to, but it made it to whatever temperature turns a copper ring terminal black with green and white corrosion.
  24. i just looked at the pics again wow! lol it looks like it melted together to make a brick of aluminum lol. I wonder how copper would have held up! any idea's? I'm not sure, but I now have 100% copper welding supply wire. I was disappointed in the thickness of the wire, but according to the site the welding supply wire can handle more current than the cca knu can.... The upgrade can't hurt!
  25. Hey now, no sense in getting smart... you may not have been, but it sure did seem like it. I have a total of 4 gauges in my center console, 2 measure amperage up to 300 shunt amps... the other 2 are voltmeters on the input of my amps. What happened was an honest mistake, and I assure you it will not happen again. I might as well have not had any of the gauges though, I had the previous setup for a while, and got burnt out on it. It was rarely played over 1/4, which left me no reason to monitor my gauges. Regardless, this will not happen again. I don't need my truck burning up.
