That warning was removed by Denim. The note remains.

Stetsom Joins SSA | Store & Forum

They have a forum at CACO... I've not really heard that many positive things about their amps either..

    Can I please have?

No one can see your warn level except for you and staff. It helps us determine what users have already had a warning for a specific violation.

    2 12s vs 2 10s

Why? Your quite clearly the type of guy that would more appreciate a ported box over a sealed one. Instead of two 12's sealed (even ported, the box would be undersized a tad), why not just go with one SSD 15" ported? You've got the space for it. You can use external aero ports to gain back the volume you would lose with a conventional internal slot port.

    Incriminator Lethal Injection 15

well i planned on having the gain turned down except for metering. i didnt plan to go crazy. I want this setup to "sound good" rather than be the loudest in town. but in the same respect i want to be able to turn the gain up now and than and wow people. The gain pot is NOT a volume knob. You will do permanent harm to the sub if you treat it as such. Seems as if you want more than the 600w can safely give you. Time to step up to the Death Row.

    What component speakers?

Just remember that half of the reason most people aren't happy with their component choice is because of their install... or lack there of. You absolutely cannot slap a brand new set of speakers in a factory car door and expect them to sound phenomenal. You have to deaden, seal and prep the door accordingly.

    Incriminator Lethal Injection 15

The speaker will do what you tell it to do. If you're not smart about the power you send to it, you'll be back here within a week asking why your speaker blew up. Sure you can wire it to 1 ohm. That will be fine, just adjust the gain knob accordingly so you don't send that full 1kW to the woofer. Or choose a different sub.
  10. So? Its the most efficient woofer that Fi sells. It'll love that 1500w. Not to mention the SAZ-1500D is extremely underrated.

    amp problems?

Sounds like power compression to be honest. Too much power = too much heat. Also known as thermal compression and a few other terms that escape me. Your driving the speakers too damn hard. Turn your volume down.

    2 12s vs 2 10s

Sealed boxes are more for sound quality than getting loud. There are exceptions to this, but its a good rule of thumb to follow. If getting loud is your goal, a ported box is what you'll need to build. The next thing on your agenda would be to measure the space that your box is going to go in and see how large of an enclosure you can fit. From there (and based on what numbers you get), you get to pick a subwoofer and then an amplifier.

    Sound Quest by Stinger

Wire is wire. You should be more concerned about overall thickness of each gauge based on brand.

    good tunning 8" 500rms

Tuning frequency depends on what woofer he's using... you can't just expect to use a blanket 40hz port on all your boxes with all the woofers and expect it to sound good.

    Fi q's question

Make sure you actually build the correct, Fi recommended enclosure for the Q's... otherwise, your custom woofers probably won't be any better than the Kicker woofers you have now.

    Battery Question

That sounds about right for a resting charge. Performance batteries will rest a bit higher if conditioned properly.
  17. lol ah yes. Marketing at its finest. It can already do a swell 2-way active in stock form. It gets even better if you can find a PXA-H701 to couple with it.

    AQ1200D?

How mature, and on topic of you. They do that on CarAudio.com a lot, don't do it here.
  19. Without knowing what your voltage was at when it smoked, all I can say is "cheap amp"

NEW pair of 12inch fi bl's!!

Or stupid for overspending on batteries that suck lol. Good thing you're getting them for cheap though.
  22. ive been looking at alot of websites and alot people say with the tuning software that the 9887 takes away their midbass and subwoofer output like crazy. Anybody else use the 9887? Seems like 800prs is universally praised and extrememly hard to find without paying $500 Maybe if you let it run in the noob (automatic) mode. Not in Pro mode. wait so your telling me you can run active on the 9887 without having to use the software? i definantly didnt get that impression with all the reviews ive been reading and peoples experiences What software are you referring to exactly? There are just two modes on the deck...

    AQ1200D?

The fact of the matter is... AudioQue has had the same amp, the same parts with no documented revisions since the product was released. Can you say the same for Sundown? How many revisions and upgrades has Jacob made to his lines to constantly make them better / more powerful? Take this thread for example : SAZ-3500D / AQ-3500D Side By Side - Realm of Excursion He details the main differences of the SAZ-3500D vs the AQ-3500D. Simply put, the Sundown is built far beefier than the AQ. What would you rather have? Something that was manufactured fast, with no revisions. Or something that was manufactured under the watchful eye of the owner, who then took customer feedback to heart and made his product better. No bandwagon here, in fact, the only one I see in this thread is the AQ nut huggers who can't stand to see Sundown recommended over and over again.
