  1. The ZR1 is a monster, I really like the Z06 too!! While not the SLP variant you have on your desktop... It's my Rally Yellow 1LT/RS. It has been massaged a bit, with an Injen CAI, ARH long tube headers and hiflow cats, Flowmaster Super 44 mufflers and Trifecta tuned ECM and TCM. It has run 9.1 @ 82mph in the 1/8th and has seen it's limited top speed of 155mph. Currently sitting with ~280rwhp and ~250lb-ft of torque. Not bad for a 3700pd automatic 3.6ltr v6, lol! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I had saved up enough cash to get one of those. Unfortunately I got cancer and was out of work for almost a year, and my wife was going back to school. So i used almost all that money to survive for that year. So now we are going to Rome in April with what is left over... so no Camaro for sandt. Getting well and going to Rome kinda trumps the Camaro bro. Stay well and enjoy Rome, that is priceless, cars are a dime a dozen! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Welcome to the IHoP

I have no clue what to say in here...so... Hey. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  3. Somewhat. I've moved the IAT sensor back to the factory location, so the car is seeing intake air temps slightly above ambient, instead of 10* below. That, with always running 91 minimum, has pulled it in to where I'm seeing 6-8* being pulled instead of 12-14* on the big end. I still think some of it has to due with my exhaust being a bit too free flowing, and the resonance from it is tricking the knock sensors into pulling timing that doesn't need pulled. I'm going to head to the track here soon, and see what happens officially. I think, too, that by losing so much back pressure, I've lost some top end, and might try a resonated x-pipe to both tone down the exhaust and add some back pressure over the factory h-pipe. What do you think? Thanks J! It's my DD toy, lol!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Can you hear it knocking? I hate knock sensors as they are easily skewed due to harmonics. Many times they sense something that isn't there. I'd try and unplug them or shut them off if possible. As for the exhaust, reducing back pressure will free up top end power and lessen the torque. Nope, can't hear it knocking at all. The sensors are really sensitive I think. That's due to the fact this motor has 11.3:1 compression, but can run on 87. The DI helps by cooling the pistons, but it also hurts trying to to hear subtle stuff as the injectors tick loudly. At around 500-700psi at idle, and upwards, if not more then, 1200psi on throttle, I can see why, lol. I might try and unplug them and see what happens. As to the back pressure, be it topend, or torque, I think I'm a bit too freeflowing. Even if a resonated x-pipe only cures the harmonic problem I think I have, it'll be worth it!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Trunk Setup Positioning

This, +1. With extreme power levels, and I consider 3500+ as extreme, the absolute loudest, lowest system I ever built was side firing. It was in a Nissan Maxima, a pair of 12 Solo Xs, each one fired into a corner of the trunk with it's port. With a MA Audio HK4000d, two batteries and a hipo alternator, that car was beyond sickening to sit in. Like mentioned above, this was a taller, almost trunk filling enclosure, so that played a role. Also, you are going to have to play around with it yourself as well. Although for me, side>rear>front, for sound and output.

I don't see how having a full on bumping system is violating anyone's first amendment rights. What is said in the lyrics might be protected, but not the booming bass that goes along with it. Also, who can hear the lyrics when all there is is boom? People can get mad as much as they like, as ///M5 said, you choose to turn it up, be prepared to pay for it. You made the choice, now man up and accept the consequences. Plain and simple. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I think your misunderstanding. The law that says you can't have loud sounds be heard xx ft away violates YOUR first amendment right. Clarified...and.... Really? How's that? What about that person violating other people's right to peace and quiet? Just what are you saying that's so important that it has to be accompanied by bass that can be heard from more then 75ft away? No, with bass booming like that, you are disturbing the peace, and getting a ticket for it is not violating anyone's right to free speech. Get over it. Also, unless the statute is written with a specific db level in mind, a officer will not have to have a db meter handy to issue the ticket. If it says 75ft, all he/she has to prove is they were 75ft away. For those who'll argue the are rolling with factory, and thus shouldn't get tickets, your statute will have to specify aftermarket only. Otherwise, you're screwed. The statute I write citations on clearly states 75ft and ANY amplified sound making equipment. Anything installed in a car has an amplifier, be it in the headunit, or a stand alone amplifier. In short, take some responsibility with your system. Leave the windows up, leave the volume down a bit. Not everyone wants to hear your system, but if you must turn it up, don't bitch when you see my lights behind you. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Just so you know, some of us write those loud pipes too. I own a Harley, it's not the loudest thing in the world, but can be loud. I have enough respect to shift early in town, residential areas, so as to not disturb folks. Same when I had beats. Kept it turned town in town, residential areas. Had a little respect for my neighbors. More people should practice that. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

$250, plus mandatory court date, for first offense where I police, $375 and court, for your second. Council is working on the wording for the third offense which will include impound and seizure of the system. In short, people are getting tired of bassheads ruining their days, evenings and nights, by constantly thumping their systems, windows down, almost non-stop. No one to blame but the bassheads themselves, of which I was once one. No respect given, means no respect returned. Stoplights, residential areas and even downtown areas, are not the place to show off your beats. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  13. Even the 125.2? Unless it's input board is AC coupled, going by what I quoted above, correct? When you get time, I'd appreciate it if you could look into to it a bit deeper. It seems as though not every amp is having the problem, just two that I know of right now, your SAZ 1000d in one car and 4 older Orions in another. Would be interesting to see if the input side of things are similar. Thanks again! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  14. Thank you sir!! So the SAX and SAZ lines have different input boards? One is AC couple, while the other DC? Or is there another reason this is happening on class d more then a/b? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  15. Jacob, this is for you... Could this be a problem with the SAZ 1000d not working in a 2010 Camaro, but the SAX 125.2 does?? And Both quotes are from an EE on the camaro5 board, and he's correct about the 6volts DC on the speakers, at least on non-BA cars. Moriatii will hopefully measure his on a BA car. Do you think a LOC inline from the SubThump harness, pre BA amp, post radio, will allow gojo to run his SAZ 1000d? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  16. Okay, this is just weird. We've been trying to help gojo over at c5.com for awhile now, no luck. My thought process is it's ground issue, but he's had luck going into computer speakers with the SubThump harness. I don't have the BA system in my Camaro, so I can;t go test... wait a minute, lol....Got an idea. A friend has a 2LT with the BA system. I'll get some voltage readings from his. We have got to get this figured out, lol. This is weird, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  17. These would be lining my walls now, along with a few bikini shots, hehe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  18. Never had a Lambo on my wall...sorry. That was on my wall, along with several others like it, lol. I can't find the one with the 4 girls on the bicycles, it actually hung on the ceiling right above my bed. Was always nice to wake up too!! Not exactly the poster, but one similar to this one adorned my walls as well. Several other Corvette themed posters lined my walls, as well as several empty 12 pack cartons, a fishnet, and various other doodads. Not once did a Lambo ever find space on my wall. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Adding bass to 2010 Camaro

It's not, lol. The box specs he posted are 1.1ft^3 for dual, or .7ft^3 for triple. LMAO..told ya to read...hehehe yeah!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Hey Kent, you didn't read. Those specs do look fine for the 12" though. 1 cuft will definitely work which is about where it'd be with the driver in the box. Umm, lol, you didn't read. Those specs from SubThump are for a dual chamber, or triple chamber box, lol. Moriartti want a single sub setup, lol. Also, I didn't quote the SubThump specs, because I was just trying to give the OP the size he should be looking for. hehe And he might be going 12, if SubThump has a single sub pass thru location box in the right size. neeneerneeneerneeneer!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Lol, 1.1cuft EACH it says. Which for a 12" is about perfect once you subtract the volume of the sub. Read again. No, lol, you read again, he wants one sub, those dimensions don't count harhar.. I will give you that that size enclosure would be perfect for a single 12, and it's something Moiartti is possibly leaning towards. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Adding bass to 2010 Camaro

•Sealed: .70 cu.ft. •Sealed: .90 cu.ft. optimal •Ported: 1.00 cu.ft. @ 27-33 hz •Ported: 1.35 cu.ft. @ 27-33hz opt Those are the recommended enclosure sizes, after all displacements. In the case of the ICON, the sub displaces .12 ft^2 . So you are looking for a box with a net displacement of .82 to 1.02 before sub, for sealed. Anything in that range will work, and with the Sundown pushing it, will sound awesome, and IMHO, get plenty loud. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Hello from Austin Texas

Glad to see you found this lace brother!! It's a great place to hang out, as is camaro5. Definitely along the same principles! Great people here, lots of knowledge. We'll get ya straight on the car audio side of things!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Adding bass to 2010 Camaro

Moriartti!!! Welcome over brother!! jay-cee hooked you up on the diagram, so I got here late! As to the adavantage to wiring in series vs parallel, in this case it's to match the impedence of the amplifier. Dual voice coil sub offer that extra bit of flexibilty, so if amp changes are made, sub changes made not always be necessary. Otherwise, no other advantage can be gained, without getting into competition and trying to draw out extra power. The Dcon wouldn't be a bad choice either, as jay-cee pointed out. The ICON does offer the possiblity of stepping up in power later, and allowing an easier amp choice, due to the flexibilty of dual coils, and multiple wiring options. Hang around a bit. There are some knowledgable people here, some asshats too, lol. But if you have any questions, you can be certain they'll get answered. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
