Looks like it's doing work.

How about if the guy says that to run 1/0 wire from your battery to your 3000d is "overkill", all you need is 4 gauge. Kind of seems not knowledgeable to me! Please don't use 4awg with my old amp, I don't wanna see her burn...Haha Jk Jk I know you have your 1/0 in.

I am thinking about re-doing my setup and would like some opinions. I am thinking about moving my 4 DP21"s to the passenger side, and port on drivers side. Then the idea for 8 15"s started creeping into my head. The subs in each setup will be on 2k wrms each, so it's not really a fair comparison since it will be twice the power with the 15"s, but o well. The 8 15"s would be on bottom with the port across the top most likely. Some of the subs I have been considering for the 15"s are: BTL's, new DP's, Lvl 5's, and Exos. Right now I am leaning towards the Atmos Exos. Wall is in an 03 Expedition at the B-pillars, 40 cubes and will be tuned somewhere between 28 and 32hz. Probably to the low side lol. This is a dd/ground pounder setup, not really a comp one. Maybe occasional bass race. Nothing is set in stone yet, lets get some opinions.

Why do you say that, cheaper than 4 21" Wardens lol. Nothing, they're still fine, just. Just changing up some things and figured I'd reevaluate my sub situation as well. I don't like running subs over rms for daily...And the wall that the 21"s are in now is 40 cubes after all displacements. If I stick with the 21"s I'll just do them port driver, subs passenger, instead of the port in the middle. It's causing some weird loading. But the wall is plenty big for either, it would just be easier to situate the 15"s on the baffle. You mean the Level 5's?..And I'm not stuck on anything, just getting a few opinions.

Subs Ringing Problem
rmzsuzuki89 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I just got my system up and running a lil while ago, now I have a problem. I had a Maxxlink in, but the subs were barely moving, though quite loud. I had the input level set correctly, and wired up just as the manual diagrammed. So I decided to take it out and see how it would be with just 2 sets of strapped amps (4 SAZ-3000d's). I only have one set of rcas going back from the hu, so I got some rca splitters so I could get rcas to the other master amp. Now, I'm getting a ringing out of the subs, sounds almost like a 1000hz tone or something. The pitch also increases as I get on the throttle. I also have quite a bit less output than when the Maxxlink was in. So I've been doing a lil reading, and read somewhere here on the forums that splitters half the signal, and limit the tuning capabilities of the hu. Not something that I'm stating as fact, just something that I read. So I just pulled the hu (Alpine iDa-X100) to see how many sub outs I have, and there is only one set. So my question is, how should I go about my rca wiring in this situation? Btw, sorry for the long ass post lol. -
Don't forget about your electrical. You won't be able to power that btl fully without electrical upgrades. Big 3, batts, alt, etc...

I may be able to make it out, I'm still working out some issues trying to run without the Maxxlink.
-
Haha I'll try to get some more here soon.

Ya, not too bad for a phone vid. Thanks
-
Finally got a vid. It's not very long and the setup still isn't tweaked, but its a start. View My Video More to come in the future after some tweaking. And sorry, I don't know how to embed vids lol.

Haha,, and you don't have to explain anything now.

Well, my Argentine black and white tegu is finally here, his name is Apophis. I put a deposit to reserve a hatchling for me back in February. They hatched June 25, And I finally got him this last Monday. I'm up to 4 lizards in my room now lol. He is maybe 8" or 9" and will be a month old tomorrow. And the rest. Enceladus These are old pics, he is now about 8" and has a very fat tail. Callisto These pics are old too, he is now right around 20". Though he hasn't been eating lately, so he hasn't grown, gotta get him into a vet. Ganymede More old pics, she is right around 14" now and gaining weight like crazy. And Ganymede and Callisto together when they were babies. So, does anyone else on here keep lizards?
-
I've always wanted a chameleon...And ya, he's pretty cool with his green head, he will be all black and white in the next month or so though.
-
Callisto is a bearded dragon. Beardies are easy and relatively cheap to care for, and are really docile and friendly. They don't even really need to be tamed, they just come that way lol.

Beefy 12", nice.

Ya, I'm gonna get in there and start cleaning stuff. And I like Ryobi tools, thats like all we have. The 5.5 amp jigsaw does work lol. And I got the issue fixed for now. I over looked something simple in my panic called the sub woofer setting on the hu that reset when I disconnected my batteries lol. Now I just gotta get rid of my rca noise with the Maxxlink out, Gonna get a new ground loop isolator pretty soon.

How would I hook the Ipod up direct? I'm gonna be going over all suggestions listed tomorrow. I'm gonna read through it now. Ya I would definitely like to fix the issue with or without the Maxxlink. -

Well, I think I got the output back that i had before taking out the Maxxlink. Not I just gotta get rid of the ringing when the Maxxlink isn't in. The ground loop isolator didn't do anything when I tried it, maybe I gotta go get a new one or something. -

I reinstalled it and it got rid of the ringing, but I still don't have the output I used to have. I'm gonna reset everything and do it again i guess. -
Subs Ringing Problem

I'll put the dmm on it in a lil while, I'm gonna go to the gym and mow, and just walk away from it for a lil while in general. Here's the new problem. The ringing is gone, but there is no output. I believe that two of the subs aren't working, the two on the drivers side. I have it wired with the Maxxlink in exactly as it was wired and setup yesterday before I took the Maxxlink out. I wish I would have at least taken a couple vids before I tried all of this lol. So should I just re-unhook the Maxxlink, reset all of the gains on the amps to get them ready for the signal from the Maxxlink, then redo all of the settings on the Maxxlink? I will only need the splitters if I don't run the Maxxlink...Thanks for all of the info, it gives me a couple ideas to try. -

I'll probably go do that now. It's gone with the Maxxlink in though...Now I'm just trying to figure out why there isn't any output. It almost looks like the two subs on my side aren't playing, but I can't tell for sure and I can't play it for long. -

Well I decided to put the Maxxlink back in and the ringing is gone. But I now have no output. I'm gonna go back out and mess with it a lil after my head clears a lil lol. -

I don't think that could be it since it still does it even with the rcas unplugged. Or would it? It has been fine for the past 3 years.
