  1. 2003 Ford Expedition XLT 5.4L

I sent an email to the email in your sig with more details in it. Forgot to add a couple questions too, but I'll get those in when you get back to me so I'm not sending 2 emails back to back lol.

  2. in looking at the grounding your definatly looking in the right place !

have you done the big 3 ? / checked the grounding on the chassis ,engine , and alt ? while your at it check if al connections are still wrapped tight and secure around the powercables also on the power side .

Gonna start looking up front tomorrow. I still gotta do the engine/chassis ground in 1/0. I ran out and forgot about it until now when you said something lol. I know it has to be a grounding somewhere, just gotta find it.

  3. Look at that for starters if you havent, I would also look at another sub amp as well as an hu if you can. I doubt it but your amp can be at faultl, did you check your rcas as well.

I'll try some of those that I haven't tried already tomorrow. I'm thinking maybe the sub outs on the hu are going.

I don't think the amp could be at fault since A: it's brand new, and B: it did it before with another brand new amp, and C: it did it with my four SAZ-3Kd's. Only time it didn't do it is when I had two JL 1000/1v2's, four JL 1000/1v2's, two Saz-3Kd's, and one SAZ-3Kd.

    What HU do you have?

Alpine iDA-X100 thats a couple years old.

  4. I've been trying to trouble shoot my hissing noise for a while now and don't know where else to look. When the sub amp is hooked up, the subs have a slight crackle, and the tweeters hiss. But when I unhook the remote to the sub amp the highs are fine. I've moved all of the grounds in the back around to a few different places. I've also tried grounding the head unit, and checked the rcas and tried a different set of rcas. Also added a relay. Grounding the hu kinda lessened the hissing in the highs, but not too much. I don't really know where else to check. I was thinking about just getting a new hu to see if mine is taking a shit...Any advice?

  5. Wow I knew the amp was huge, but seeing it installed in your vehicle it shows just how big that sucka is!

    Keep up the great work!

    Haha ya.

just read through this whole thing.

WOW ... words do not do this build justice.. Simply bad-ass :drink40:

we all NEED vids once this sucka is done....

    Thanks...Vids will come soon.

  6. Looks Sick bro. Love the warhorse. That's a big bitch!

Good luck finding the noise. I hate when that happens after spending so much time trying to do it right. :suicide-santa:

I bet an RCA got pinched. I always try running one front to back just laying on top of the seats or something to try and eliminate the RCA's. Then look at grounds starting with the HU ground and grounding it to the chassis if it's not.

Ya, I'm gonna pull the hu out tomorrow and have a look around...And thanks.

  7. Here are a couple of pics of today's wiring. It's playing, but I have a faint ground noise in the subs, and the tweets are hissing at me too. It's kinda weird because I've messed with all of the grounds, and the highs are fine when I take the remote out of the sub amp.

Had to tilt it out to get to the settings and to get the wires and everything in.

Gonna play with the grounds and rca's a lil more tomorrow.

  8. I think it says a whole lot about the attitude an integrity of a company when a topic like this can show up opposing the companys products, and the owner can post in said topic unbiased without trying to push his product. From what ive seen, they are both amazing drivers, and companies, but IMO it speaks leaps and bounds that mark, is a honest enough guy to allow a topic like this on an SSA owned board to go on and fairly represent the opposition, and as a consumer I would like to say thank you to SSA.

    2nd, 3rd, and 4th :D

Like what has been said, both are great drivers and you will be happy either way.

  9. What did you do to have the doc tell you to do nothing?

    Had surgery on my throat.

Amp should go in today. I'm gonna wash the bike, mow, wax the race trailer, then the rest of the day can be dedicated to the car.

  10. this build looks epic!......how far is st pete from orlando?

Thanks...And about an hour and a half depending on traffic and how fast you drive.

And it's not looking good for getting the amp in today. I just got back from the hospital and the doctor said not to do anything except for nothing really lol.

  11. Both are great speakers. I have owned 4 13w7s on 4 1000/1v2s and it sounded pretty good and got decently loud. I have never heard an Xcon, but I have heard Icons and I actually liked them better than the w7s. I'm sure I'd like the Xcon better than the I con as well.

Another thing to think about if you go with the w7. If you do ever blow it and need a recone, be prepared to pay about as much as you're paying for the sub itself now.

  12. Didn't get much of anything done today.

The beginning of the amp rack.

    avrkac.jpg

Ended up breaking the nozzle on the glue bottle trying to open it lol. Didn't want the glue to go bad, so I had to close it somehow.

  13. Oh My, thats a big amp!! :partybanana:

    Yes it is lol.

    Now that's a nice amp... :drink40:

It'll look even better in my car. ;)

Very nice, have not seen one in person yet.

This is the first I've seen in person too. The pictures do it no justice.

  14. i knew these existed but have never seen someone own it. i've seen companies and such but damn is that going to be nice

Lol I was the same until I saw a few around.

    Badass amp

    Tis' :D

loooks amazing bro......how far is st pete from orlando

Thanks...And about an hour and a half depending on speed and traffic.

are there any car clubs around that area or people looking for 1? I'm putting together the pieces for my own right now and need more members

I don't really know of any actual car clubs around. But I don't go to many hows or anything so I'm not a really reliable source lol.
