This is my new thread since there have been some changes. I found the width I needed to do a wall and that was my original want, so that's the route I decided to go. Have been planning this for a lil while now. Being busy with school and what not, it has been a long time coming. I finally started the other day though. Just a heads up: Being in college full time, with a ton of papers coming up soon, this will not be a fast build. Just gonna work on it when I can between class, gf, and other things until its done. What's going in: 4 DP21"s 4 SAZ-3000d's (new heat sinks) Maxx-Link 200+ ft. Tsunami Competition 1/0 (5+ 5- runs back) 9 Deka 9a31's (1 up front, 8 in back) 1 DC Power 290 amp alt (for now) EDIT: Was going to be a 4th order designed by iamamp3pimp, but I found some more width and decided to design myself a flat wall since it's the first idea that I was wanting to do. Other misc. things All in an '03 Expedition XLT Big thanks to Robin for the design, I may still go with a 4th in the future. The design Probably gonna do a couple 2x4's in the port instead of one. These are some of the color schemes I'm thinking about. Will match my dust caps lol.

As long as the signal isnt clipped and you aren't trying to play way way below box tuning you should be fine. What amp is it...As long as all of the settings are right, you have nothing to worry about.

that is nothing the AQ20.1 was going for 1600 back in the day.. i think they discontinued them though lol! 20krms at 1ohm ... o my! I thought that particular AQ amp was rated at 20k peak, and a lil under 10kwrms. -
2003 Ford Expedition XLT 5.4L I sent an email to the email in your sig with more details in it. Forgot to add a couple questions too, but I'll get those in when you get back to me so I'm not sending 2 emails back to back lol.

Ground Noise or Something
rmzsuzuki89 replied to rmzsuzuki89's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Gonna start looking up front tomorrow. I still gotta do the engine/chassis ground in 1/0. I ran out and forgot about it until now when you said something lol. I know it has to be a grounding somewhere, just gotta find it. -
Ground Noise or Something
rmzsuzuki89 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I've been trying to trouble shoot my hissing noise for a while now and don't know where else to look. When the sub amp is hooked up, the subs have a slight crackle, and the tweeters hiss. But when I unhook the remote to the sub amp the highs are fine. I've moved all of the grounds in the back around to a few different places. I've also tried grounding the head unit, and checked the rcas and tried a different set of rcas. Also added a relay. Grounding the hu kinda lessened the hissing in the highs, but not too much. I don't really know where else to check. I was thinking about just getting a new hu to see if mine is taking a shit...Any advice? -

I'll try some of those that I haven't tried already tomorrow. I'm thinking maybe the sub outs on the hu are going. I don't think the amp could be at fault since A: it's brand new, and B: it did it before with another brand new amp, and C: it did it with my four SAZ-3Kd's. Only time it didn't do it is when I had two JL 1000/1v2's, four JL 1000/1v2's, two Saz-3Kd's, and one SAZ-3Kd. Alpine iDA-X100 thats a couple years old. -
Haha ya. Thanks...Vids will come soon.

Ya, I'm gonna pull the hu out tomorrow and have a look around...And thanks.

Here are a couple of pics of today's wiring. It's playing, but I have a faint ground noise in the subs, and the tweets are hissing at me too. It's kinda weird because I've messed with all of the grounds, and the highs are fine when I take the remote out of the sub amp. Had to tilt it out to get to the settings and to get the wires and everything in. Gonna play with the grounds and rca's a lil more tomorrow.

That's what I said after I mounted it and stepped back and looked lol.

Vids will come.

2nd, 3rd, and 4th Like what has been said, both are great drivers and you will be happy either way.
-
Tis Ya you do, looks like a flat screen back there lol.
-
Amps in, gotta rewire the subs and hook them up tomorrow. Also have some wiring to clean up, and gotta make a new battery hatch.

Had surgery on my throat. Amp should go in today. I'm gonna wash the bike, mow, wax the race trailer, then the rest of the day can be dedicated to the car.
-
Thanks...And about an hour and a half depending on traffic and how fast you drive. And it's not looking good for getting the amp in today. I just got back from the hospital and the doctor said not to do anything except for nothing really lol.
-
I got back from the track a little later than I had planned and didn't feel like doing anything lol.

Both are great speakers. I have owned 4 13w7s on 4 1000/1v2s and it sounded pretty good and got decently loud. I have never heard an Xcon, but I have heard Icons and I actually liked them better than the w7s. I'm sure I'd like the Xcon better than the I con as well. Another thing to think about if you go with the w7. If you do ever blow it and need a recone, be prepared to pay about as much as you're paying for the sub itself now.

Me too...Thanks

Back from Ace. Love the way the amp mounts.

Didn't get much of anything done today. The beginning of the amp rack. Ended up breaking the nozzle on the glue bottle trying to open it lol. Didn't want the glue to go bad, so I had to close it somehow.

Yes it is lol. It'll look even better in my car. This is the first I've seen in person too. The pictures do it no justice.
