    A Little KIA Fex!

My youngest daughter Rylie wanted a demo of the new setup in the KIA today so I gave her one and did a little vid of it. Enjoy.

    A Little KIA Fex!

Thanks man. I am hopefully getting my other SAZ-2500D Next week. Then I am mounting them on the back seats instead of putting them in the spare tire well. I've got to get the KIA ready for NSPL World Finals. I am going to try and break my own World Record in Truck/SUV 1801-3600 Watt Class. I am shooting for a 153 and hopefully keeping it under 3600 Watts.

    A Little KIA Fex!

When we deadened the roof, we were very careful too. There are two electrical connectors above the back cargo door that I almost disconnected when taking the headliner down. That would have been fun explaining to the wife. LOL! How is everything in Oklahoma? I was born and raised in Lawton Oklahoma.

Thanks man. The floor is not going to be fun to deaden because of the airbag sensor on the front passenger seats. I have to disconnect all of my batts before I start taking the seats and carpet out to deaden the floor. I don't want any accidental air bag explosions.

    Another KIA Demo!

Here is another demo video. The song is ET by Katy Perry. Enjoy.

    A Little KIA Fex!

Thanks man. The KIA has been reinforced with 3 layers of sound deadener on the roof as well as the roof braces being repaired and all of the doors including the back have 2 layers of deadener. One of these days I will do the floor, but that is not going to be fun. LOL!

    Another KIA Demo!

Voltage is great with only one SAZ-2500D. It doesn't drop below high 12's I believe. I think most of the time it is in the 13's. Nope, I did not notice that. I am trading my blown SAZ-2000D and putting some cash in to get my second SAZ-2500D from Jacob. Just need to come up with the cash. Hard to do when gas is so high and I commute 1.5 hours each way to work every day.

Thanks man. She enjoyed every bit of it. That is only one Sundown SAZ-2500D doing all of that. It may be a little over a 1000 watts with the high impedance rise I have. Just imagine what it is going to be like when I have an SAZ-2500D on each Nightshade. I will be more conservative with the volume when my daughter is in there when I get the second one.

    Nightshades

Get the Nightshade, you won't be disappointed man. I still have version ones. They are awesome albeit they are modified slightly. Read my signature man.

    Reclaimed box build

Very nice man. That SA-12 is definitely doing work.
  15. I hear you man. Car audio eats up all my free time. which isn't much. I have been following some of Derrick's builds, He knows his chit! He definitely does man.
  16. Hey Guys. I set a new World Record in NSPL Truck/SUV 1801-3600 Watt Class. 152.1Db@49Hz and 3157 Clamped watts. Team Nemesis Derrick filmed my record run. Enjoy.
  17. Thanks Steve. A lot of hard work went in that Darn KIA. I am hoping to have my new amps in for finals. Some serious testing will be needed to keep the new ones under 3600 Watts.

Indeed we are. I am going to try and get a 153 in Truck/SUV 1801-3600. It will be tough, but I think it can be done.

  21. Thanks Gary. Now if I can score as high as you do, then that would be impressive. When you did that 160 with only 2 SAZ-1500D's, I was very impressed man. It would be awesome If I could get close to a 153 or better and keep it under 3600 watts.
  22. Thanks man. That record will be there for a while. I am going to try to get close to a 153 and keep it under 3600 watts at next month's competition.
  23. Would you mind sharing? Reason asking is because of all of the trial and error you have already been through, and has turned out extremely well for you. Not that I just want to jump to first place my first time, kuz it won't happen. But I believe if you can learn from other ppl mistakes, than there is no reason to make your own. So, what are some helpful tips you could give to somebody that is new. Like, did you deaden your entire vehicle, what parts of the vehicle were the most important, what box designs worked out the best, how did you reinforce the roof, etc etc. Just in general, what are some tips that would help anybody?? Not at all man. Everything is deadened except the floor and the sides of the vehicle. I have three layers of Dynamat Extreme on my roof. If you have an suv, you should definitely deaden your roof, All of my roof braces were broken and instead of welding, we used a very sticky almost like window sealant and filled in the seams. I have deadener on the inside of my back door panel as well and the inside of the back door as well. All of my doors have 2 layers of deadener on them. You definitely want to do a big3 upgrade. You can find out how to do a big3 upgrade by typing in the search window on just about any car audio forum. I definitely suggest a few batteries if you are going to run a big system similar to mine. I have two Optima Group31 batteries in my tire well. I would love to have a couple more, but my suv is small. A high output alternator is recommended for extreme systems. Mine is not extreme, but it definitely needs an h. o. alternator. The box depends on what your vehicle is. My suv likes subs up and port/ports firing into the driver's side. That is how all of my boxes will be from now on. As far as some tricks to get louder. Here are a few I do. My front passenger seat is folded down and moved all the way forward. All my vents are closed and no air is on. Some people have their air on and turn it off before they pull into the lanes. Sun visors are parallel to the windshield. I used to have a rear view mirror and I tilted it towards the meter. The mirror bracket broke when I was demoing and now I need a new bracket. I have no dome lights or map lights because of the bass. If you have more than one amp, I would definitely suggest gain matching your amps so your subs have the same voltage. Don't overdrive your amps either. For the longest time I was over driving my amps and did not even realize it until my friend gain matched my amps. I have had my subs re-coned at least four times each because of stupidity. Tune your box to the vehicles resonant frequency. I would not suggest playing too far below tuning. That is how I tore my subs up. My box I have now is dual purpose box. I have two huge 8" round ports on the side of my box tuned at 46 Hz for spl, and thirty something for daily when I plug one of the ports. Definitely have a cd player with a pause button. That is all I think of for now. I hope this helps.
  24. Wow! This is crazy! But seriously, Derrick is very knowledgeable about testing and tuning. He and the rest of Team Nemesis and Master Yoda, Ray Smith have helped me to get me where I am now. There has been hours and hours of work on my KIA. Not to mention a lot of money has been invested, not necessarily on equipment, but Sound deadener all over the truck, the roof has been reinforced because all the braces had cracked welds. Quite a few boxes have been in and out of The KIA. I probably have four or five at Derrick's shop. Repairs to the back door. Electrical repaired. Electrical upgrades. This is a very addictive sport.
  25. thanks boss I appreciate it. When is the next FL show you will be making it to? EDIT:Whats the difference between wall and wall hardcore? If anyone does a wall class comp, there vehicle is totally sealed up when they do their run. Wall Hardcore, they can have a window down, a door open, someone fanning a door.....etc.
