  1. I recently bought a 2010 GMC Sierra Crew Cab My situation: Ive already installed an Alpine IVE-535HD DVD receiver, 2 sets of Kicker RS Components, a Kicker IX500.4 amp. I have a Sundown 1200 mono amp that has been installed also and will be building an enclosure and buying subs next weekend. My issue is I am torn on what config to go with... Option 1 - (2) Sundown SA-8's in a 1.5cf, front firing, side ported enclosure under the seat tuned to 30-32hz. Option 2 - (4) Infinity Reference 860w 8's in a front firing, front ported enclosure under the seat tuned to 32hz My main objective is to grab the lows into the mid 20's with authority. Has anyone had experience in a similar vehicle with either two setups? Thanks in advance for any help/recommendations!
  2. New JBL W12GTi MKII waiting for a home. Need to do sealed as space is limited but plenty to work with for a proper enclosure. Looking for it to attack the lows and have a flat(ish) response. Not a ground pounder, rather a SQ build for this old man.

    New Car, New Build

So I pulled the trigger on a JBL W12GTi MkII. I changed the amps up from to Kicker ix1000.5 to the ix500.4 and ZX1000.1. I will be building the enclosure either this weekend or next. Going to stay sealed and looking for a good mix of a flat(ish) response and I really want it to attack the lows. JBL reccomended a 1cf sealed box but I have read that this solution is a bit peaky and does not handle the lows well. Has anyone had experience with these subs and may shine some light into an enclosure reccomendation?

Yeah I was debating an IB setup. I havent had the opportunity to work with a setup like that much. What are the pros and cons? Is there any other options as far as sub(s) I should look at? Budget is $350 and working with 500-600 rms

P.S. I listen to hip hop, R&B, Dubstep and rock. My passion is for the lows though so I need something to dig deep. I LOVED the Q, just needing to downsize

    New Car, New Build

Hey fellas! So I got a new ride and designing a SQ(L) setup as I need to make room for a baby and I have limited space. Here are the details: 2011 Chevy Malibu LTZ Source - Alpine IVE-W535HD Fronts - Kicker QS65.2 components Rears - Kicker KS693 Amp - Kicker IX1000.5 (5 channel. 65x4 & 500.1) Sub(s) - TBD! I need help choosing a sub! I have 500-600 watts rms to work with and going to be doing a sealed enclosure no larger than 1.5cf. Here is what I've narrowed to down to, any and all advice appreciated! I can have them all for between $240-350 each: JL 12W7v3 ID IDQ12v3 ARC Black 12 JBL GTI MkII Boston G512.4 SSA GCON I am looking for the most output I can acheive from a single 12" sealed setup on 500-600w. I am coming from a 15" Fi Q in a huge box on 1200w and just dont need that much anymore, Thanks guys!

$800 budget for system. Need ideas!

Well guys he is just too bought into his 6x9's... I tried, even pounded it into his head. Oh well, I will be setting it up with a focus on the front stage and possibly not even amping the rear, just run off of the supplied power of the Alpine. We chose RF T1652-S components (fabric dome tweets) and T1 6x9's (for $90). We opted for the Diamond Hex750.1 and a 12" GCON which was ordered Thurs night. I will be building a box this next weekend and awaiting the subs arrival. Does anyone have a GCON and have any input on internal volume and tuning frequency that works for your particular setup? I am thinking 2.75cf @30-31hz. He is replacing an older Diamond d3 10" on a Diamond 400.1 and his goal was more output while retaining listenability. I will be sure to post pics of everything when completed.

$800 budget for system. Need ideas!

After the amp, components and rear coaxials, he is left with $250 for sub(s)

$800 budget for system. Need ideas!

Yeah I have went round and round with him about only running a nice set of components up front (Focal, Morel etc.) and he is not having it. I even showed him my car which has no real fill. But he insists on 6x9's... And I am a lead installer at Best Buy (insert joke here!) and have a ton of Dynamat extreme at my disposal. Anyhow, I am really looking for sub suggestions if you guys have em! Or suggestions on components that may be a step in a better direction rather than the RF or Alpine.
  10. Ok guys here is the deal. I am putting together a system for a buddy with a budget of $800 for sub, amp and seperates. Details: 2004 Hyundai Sonata Source- Alpine INA-W910 4- Channel- Diamond D3 500.4 He WANTS rear 6x9's and 6.5" components for the front. I narrowed it down to: Rockford T1693 & T1652-S or Alpine SPR69 & SPR60C Now, for the sub. He is going to buy a Diamond HEX750.1 (1 ohm stable). My debate is going with either 2 12" DCONS ported or 1 12" GCON ported. Space is not an issue and I will be building a box to suit the needs of the sub. Any reccomendations on the sub choice or components???

    New Dustcap

I purchased a 15" Q back in 2009 and the cooling portion "blew" out of the sub, cracking/destroying the dustcap in the process. I have repaired the sub but still need a dustcap! Any help? I have tried to order one on the website but cannot find an option to do so... thanks for any help guys.

    New system... help me pick!

Those SP4s looks amazing! But I dont think my 1500 rms will be enough to get the most out of them.

    New system... help me pick!

I have not seen the new Fi SP4. Thanks for the info, I will look into them! I have looked at ICONs... cant remember why I ruled them out. The reason I was looking at the Kicker and JBL subs is because I can get a ridiculous deal on them through the company for being an employee of Best Buy. The L7s get loud as hell but will another option get even louder??
  14. Hey fellas. I just started back installing at Best Buy and have moved my old setup (Fi Q15 and Cadence iA7) to my winter truck. Its time to upgrade the 300C. After getting a damn good accomodation price I am awaiting the arrival of a Kicker ZX1500.1 Details: 2007 Chrysler 300C, Big 3 upgrade, 160 amp alt., room for a 6.5 cf. box. Want: More output then my Q15! Love the Q, just want it louder. I want to purchase a single 15" or 2 12"s for a budget of $500 or less. I am looking for a high output driver that is at least musical enough for daily listening. I did like the Q for the lows and would like to keep that in a higher output sub. So far I am thinking of the following: 2 12" Kicker L7s (i can buy both for $250) 2 12" JBL Gti MKII (both for $480) 2 12" Sundown SAs ($390) 2 12" IA Lethal Injection ($380) 1 15" DD3500 ($549) 1 15" Sundown Audio Z v3 ($440) 1 15" SSA XCON ($389) Any input on which of these choices would give me the groundpounder I am looking for being run off of the Kicker ZX1500.1???
  15. So I am currently running a Cadence iA7 and couldn't be more pleased with it's performance. I just ran across a deal from friend who is selling a RF Power T1500-1bdCP brand new for $300. I know I will get substantially more power from the Rockford and I think I am going to switch the two out unless someone tells me why they would keep the Cadence over the RF. Give me your thoughts!
