2000GPGT

92 bmw 325is 5 speed and the way the speakers are set up i actually hear more sound from behind me... the front speakers are right next to my feet so it kinda sucks for sound, the mids and tweeters are in the door panel so that helps a little... this is why i was asking for some brands that had good 6x9s i was thinkin mb quart but they are kinda expensive at the time... and yes i will be powering my front stage with an amp.. more than likely im gonna go with audioque for the amp

i know the eclipses are pretty decent and i understand completely that they werent at full potential when they were hooked up... im just looking to go to one sub as i use my trunk for other things as well (basketball, basketball shoes, roller skates [yes i roller skate, note: i said skate not blade] car supplies, and tools) i want to try something new and ive heard good things about the icons... if you have any other brands in mind to think of thats good with sq and can get decently loud let me know also first and foremost i am upgrading the front stage setup and would like to know also what are some decent 5 1/4" speakers brands to go with and i know the rears are 4" but im converting them to 6x9's... im not looking to spend a boat load but i dont wanna go the cheap route either and get shitty speakers

right now i have two 12" eclipse sw7200 subs, i had a rockford p600.2 pushing them and i kno thats nowhere near the output they handle but i got them both in a deal... i sold the amp and i am wondering if i should sell the subs as well to get something different... ive been looking into the ssa icons and the fi q's... im not looking for ridiculous bass... however i want something that can get respectably loud and have excellent sq, something that can hit the lows and sound good doing it.. i was looking at these two brands because from what i hear on this forum they work well on both ends of the spectrum (so to say) they are gonna be powered by a aq1200 amp and also its goin into a bimmer cuz i no longer have the GPGT so a name change is in order... oh yea i am looking at only one sub if i do sell the sw7200's...

i understand that... i have been out the car audio game for a while but i still remember the big 3 bigger alternator (more amps) and possible a seperate battery... im gonna do that before i get all the stuff... thats why i was saying that i have money but the amp is outta my budget for the time being... gotta build up cash again cuz my autozone budget isnt big enough lol

does anyone know off the top how much i the VFL 120.1 costs? if i wont see a diff i may jus go for the cheaper one however if i run into c/s issues then the other one ill get... and yea i think I AM A go with the Icons havent heard nothing but good reviews about them. ive been lurking the threads and on other sites as well and everyone says they are awesome.

Ok someone may have done this already and if so im sorry. if you have a link please send it to me to save face. anyways ive been out of the car audio game for a while. and im goin nutz not having subs in my car. to start out i have a 86 Grand prix and im looking at getting 2 15's sealed both 1k rms(nothing too much) and i havent decided what subs yet (leaning towards the SSA icons) but i have narrowed it down to 2 amps. either the SAZ-2000d or the American Bass VFL 120.1(i think thats it) i was wondering will i notice a diff between these amps in power rating. i think the VFL is 2600 rms so not to big maybe? also how much does the American Bass 120.1 amp cost? i know the sundown is $900. any help would be greatly appreciated

im not using the fosgate set up im the system im lookin at... put it this way... whats a good 2 15" system that will work well with a AQ 1200... And possibly 2200... i kno the amps are in two diff categories but what subs would go with either amp... mind you im lookin for 2 15's i think i have about 6.5 cubes max to work with...

Hey all, Ok long story short my buddy came across 2 12" jl audio w6's and the voice coils were blown... he gave them to me thinking i would be able to do somethin with them... 3 months have past and im still sittin on some paper weights... In everyones honest opinion how much could i sell these subs for?

Im looking for and amplifier as well i had my eye on the AQ 2200d for my set up... i drive a 2000 grand prix gt and i use my trunk sometimes for small stuff (medium size duffel bag for light traveling ect) so anything past the little screw knob for the spare tire compartment to the back seat is fair game for my subs... and im kinda looking for a balanced system like im looking for front stage speakers as well but i want it to be pretty loud i guess so im not looking for so much sq but i want it to still sound crisp when i want to turn it up... but my front stage is another story...

i sold the old system already... and my pic on my profile is my car... anyways... ive been researching and have narrowed it down to the fi q's or the dc LVL 3's or 4's

my previous setup was dont know the specs on the box but it looks decent (i know looks have nothing to do with sound)... it jus didnt sound right to me... it wasnt hiting the lows like it wanted it to... even in a sealed box... and when i stepped out the car with the music turned up (not blasted) it literally sounded like it wasnt playing at all... now im not the type of person that goes around shaking houses and pissing the neighbors off but everynow and then i want people to know what type of bass i have in my trunk and turn some heads... i guess my question is which of these subs honestly has the clearest sounding bass with the most range (from hitting the lowest lows to high notes) in a sealed box... and which would it be in a ported box? i know this is off topic but what about DD... how's their line up with SQ? and does anyone have prices... i know their prices are outrageous but i jus want to kno...
