    ZED Audio amplifier group buy

After this initial group buy, will you be carrying Zed's line of amps on your website? Do you happen to know how long these amps will be produced or if there will be a limited amount of them made? I'm a a few months at least away from installing my system, so I was just curious if I will still have time in a few months to purchase some of these amps or if they need to get purchased as soon as possible.? Look foward to seeing pics and feedback on those who have already purchased.

    mono amps

Sorry to jump in on this thread, but how much sound quality do you feel you would lose running the Kronos in a 2 ohm Load? I have a pair of dual 4 ohm subs that would either give me 2 x 500 watts @ 2 ohms or 125 watts x 2 @ 8 ohms. It would be closer to 150 watts though per side at clip according to Mr. Mantz .who says the Kronos will do about 300 watts per channel / 4 ohm at clip or 150 watts per channel @8 ohm at clip. Not sure about how much loss in sound quality would be on the subwoofers, but it sure would be nice to use the smaller amp. If I understand you correctly, why not run the Kronos at 4 ohm mono? 4 4 + 4 4 2 + 2 4 ohm mono. I wasn't aware that I could run it that way, If so, they that would for sure be the method I would chose. Mr. Mantz did not give me that option when I emailed him. He only gave me the 2 x 2 ohm route or the 2 x 8 ohm route. If there is someway to confirm that the 4 ohm mono is an option, then I have finally found my ideal amp for size, power and great quality.

  4. I apologize for jumping in this thread, but noticed the person in the above quote is using the JVC AVX77. Could you tell me how well the touch screen works and how hard it is to use when driving like if you want to turn the volume up and down. How is it in sunlight? Thanks and if you could happen to post any pics of what it looks like installed in your dads truck, that would be great. Thanks.

    Hertz Audio

The Hertz 3-way system is called the HSK 163.4 (New version) http://www.hertzaudiovideo.com/Doc/Hertz_HiEnergy_HSK163.pdf They have been updated and I guess are supposed to have similar qualities as the MLK series.

    Speaker wiring gurus...Need Help

I was under the impression that these crossovers were made to run double midbasses like shown in the example on the link, even though it does not look like there is a space on the crossover for the additional midbass in the picture. The example does show 2x midbass, mid and tweet though and a person on another site was running this type of setup with these crossovers and was the reason I was curious about the crossovers. I tried contacting Hertz, but no reply yet from them or the person that was running them on the other site. If this is not an option, my original idea was to use the Zed 6 channel, running maybe the mids and tweets off channels 1 & 2 and then run a set of midbass off channel 3&4 and the other set off channels 5&6, but not sure if that would work properly or create a headache.
  7. I am looking to run double midbasses along with a midrange and tweeter in each door. They are Hertz HSK 165 components, HL 70 mids, and these crossovers: http://www.hertzaudiovideo.com/Doc/pdf_3W20.pdf All of the speakers are 4 ohm versions. (Picture of this type of setup is also on the link) Could you tell me what they would be running at? I figured it was they would be running at 4 ohm per side when wired up, but got confused when looking at a bunch of different charts. I am looking to run this type of frontstage off of one of the new Zed Audio amps. I was originally going with the six channel and trying to figure a way to go active if needed, but I was thinking maybe if it would be possible to use the 2 channel Kronos and run passive through the crossovers listed above and hopefully it would handle them with no problem. (Kronos amp: 2 x 250 watts @ 4ohm) Look forward to help and suggestions. Thanks.
  8. Jim from CA, been on here for somethime and was on longer, but for some reason had to re-register. Anyway, just saying hi and will be looking for some help and opinions on how to best hook up my stuff in the future. It will be going in a 1970 Chevy Blazer I'm sloowly but surely restoring and will be putting a system in it sometime down the road. So far, I have aquired speakers for it little by little and now will concentrate on looking how to configure them around the new Zed Audio amps, and figure out which ones to purchase as budget permits.

Jim from CA. Been on here quite some time, but had to re-register a time ago and have not posted anything, so I figured I might as well get started. I mainly lurk and learn and only post when I can't find what I'm looking for, but I always eager to see what others are doing.
