Yup, forgot to add they are indeed giving away Dynamat door kits. How were the highs Bromo? I am after a smooth high, just the opposite of the Infinity Refrence I have now.

Hey thank you for the reply and the links dbJunior. How are the highs on those? Looks like they have some on sale right now and that would be a nice deal. I had not thought of bridging the amp and running it to the front. That will work out nice. Thanks for the tip. I wanted to wait until I get the subs in to see how it sounds as a package, but the Infinity's are killing me. They hurt when they get loud. I need to do something soon I am afraid.

Hey guys, seeking some good advice here. First let me say there is not much to choose from in my area except the usual mainstream brands in the nice wall displays. I have Infinity home floor speakers (cant recall model right now), and 2 Infinity 12" Entra Sub two's and I have been pretty pleased with them, so I went and bought some refrence 6.5 coaxial and a set of refrence 6.5 seperates for the Yukon doors. I bought them mainly because I like my Infinity home set up, and the fact they are both 2ohm so they wouldnt require any special wireing to get the most out of my amp. Well that turned out to be a bad idea. The amp I am using for mids/highs is the Rockford Fosgate 450.4 putting out 60W x 4 @ 4-Ohms RMS and 110W x 4 @ 2-Ohms RMS. The Infinity sounded kind of harsh hooked up to the factory radio even with the tweeter set at -3, but now that the 450.4 is hooked up to them, well........they sound like pure chit. As some of you may know, I am taking Quentin up on the free enclosure deal with 2 15" xcons running 1000W to each, and since there is more to life than lots of bass, I realize that I will need to upgrade my front stage asap. I hope that wont offend the bassheads. : ) I will be purchasing these sight unseen and with zero knowledge of how they will sound. I cant do worse than what I have now, so here I am seeking some advice from you that do have access to higher end car audio. I mainly listen to rock both new and classic, but I really listen to a little bit of everything. Some R&B, a little Rap and even country. I hate on nothing. I have been doing lots and lots of reading and from my search I have gathered that Rainbow and Focal would be good choices. What I would really like to do is get a nice 3 way set up with a 6.5 midwoofer, 4" midrange, and tweeter. I think I can get these to fit into the front door of the Yukon with a little modification and not have to seek out custom door pods since thw factory tweeter had a large cutout already. I really dont like a totally flat sound and would prefer more of an open and bright sound, but not harsh. (I got that now!!) I hope that makes sense. I plan on leaving the rear coax in there as they are not as bad and the front and I dont have them turned up very loud now. Budget, I would like to be as close to $350 as I can. Less would be great, but a little more would not be a deal breaker. I want a good value more than I want a cheap price. The best bang for my buck. My question/s for you guys is ... Am I on the right track with these two brands? What other brands are you guys running? Is a 3 way set up overkill if I am not willing to modify my door panels? Do I need a 3 way set up, or will I be okay with a 2 way set up? I guess the question is will a 3 way set up sound bad if I dont go with custom pods? Is there a high end component set that is 2ohm so that I can maximize my amps power or is there something else I can do to get 2 ohm out of a component set? Sorry for the 20 questions, but I really have few choices locally except potentially making another bad purchase. Thanks in advance for any help, it will be appreciated. Lance

Indeed. It is looking great Quentin. I am fortunate to have joined SSA when I did. Thank you both very much.
  9. Been out of the big time car audio loop for a little over 10 years, so I guess I am reliving my childhood again. lol I was fortunate enough to have company cars for the past 10 years and my car audio has been pretty modest. Components in the front doors and an Infinity bass link under the seat was my last set up. Not great, but better than factory full range. Well unfortunately the company car deal is over and now it's time to do things right. Luckily, I still have some Fosgate Power amps in perfect condition I can still use. I have been lurking for a while now, reading up and trying my best to catch up fast, yea right , things have changed a good bit since my day, but that's about to change. I am going to take advantage of the very generous offer that Quentin at Audibel Customs has posted and now I can stop trying to figure out WinISD. That is not a tool for a noob, so I give up. The Yukon XL is going to be rockin the 15" Xcons Baby !!! Great forum guys. Thanks to everyone who has taught me a thing or two. Looking forward to the days ahead when I have something more than a bass link to contribute to this forum. Lance

Greetings to everyone from South Carolina

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. My wife knows me better than anyone and she knows I have issues trying to do things in moderation, but I don't think she was expecting this when I said that I was going to put a little system in the Yukon. Better to ask for forgiveness than permission. L
