  1. What happened when u did this??? I had a similar problem jus to find out the the speaker wire was being destroyed by the set screw in the terminal. So i went and bought flat straight pins and the sound dissappered. it stopped making the noise i left the remote turn on connected to the amp and hu so it can turn on with that and it didnt make any noise. and i took the amp off of where i had it mounted so i can diagnose it easier ( it's in the jump seat aera) once i put it back up i will have pics of it. and i did clean up all my grounds and everything. and all my freinds have stock radios so i cant just swap them out. plus i wont be paying for the h u it will be for xmas. and i got all the noises to stop. no turn off pop and no alt whine with the way i have it wired. so my rear output is shot. Keep the amp where you had it when you did the mp3 and rehook up the hu and see if the noise stops.

    New Zed amps

I would love one but i dont know if i want one. Think it would look awesome to have a three amp setup of ESX's but it is hard find either a 475.1 or a 120.4. And when i do see them pop up they go for about 450. Which leaves me thinking about the kronos cause the prices are close and its probably easier to get the new zeds verus the two ESX's.
  6. Doesn't matter cause you'll probably end up adjusting the gain to get the sound balanced. NEVER EVER turn the gain higher than what it is set at. No bass boost. If you use the crossover in the headunit u have to have them set. If u use the subwoofer control set the gains with it all the way up, this way u will never clip the amp by adjusting it lower. Basically when they say have everthing at 0 they mean have the eq settings. 75%-80% of the max volume for ex. If the max volume is 35 than 75%-80% of that would be 27-28
  7. I cant find the 7000 on there site but i found the 8000 maybe this will help maxxsonics
  8. Ok i pulled the manual this is what it says RMS @4 -- 1200watts RMS @2 -- 1700watts then it jumps to max ratings Max @2 -- 2200watts Max @1 -- 3500watts Now i've was told and read that Steve Mantz who has made amplifiers for the company that the numbers they give are absolutely absurd. They put out half the number listed . Which goes along with the fuses. do what shizzon said and you will be good

    New Zed amps

No they are not they are subject to change. The specs are based off the prototype The only one that has see the manual is Mantz himself.
  10. What amp do you have?? Also the 3500 watts is that rms or peak??

    Mids and highs

Ok Mdizzle5472 first if you want to go active is to get either an active headunit or a good equalizer. Cause the headunit you have only has a 3 band parametric eq. heres is a couple of active headunits.... Alpine 9887 pioneer prs800 pioneer prs880 If money is no option and you have the patience and the know how active is great.

    Amp Rattle.

ive used pipe cleaners taped together to create cushsion before on my amps that rattle. Maybe using them in your application may help

    Mids and highs

Well with my research, I found that active sounds better, and gets louder, Also has a lot more play wth tuning which frequencies for each speaker. Now if my h/u is capable of going active I would like to do a 3 way set up. 6 1/2 midbass in the doors , 3" fullrange in the stock 4X6 mount, and tweeters in the a-pillars. I need opinions on what speakers/tweets to get. I mostly listenin to rap, rock, an heavy metal. I would like to go 3way active if possible if not then 2 pairs of tweets, 1 in 4X6 1 in the a pillars. Thanks in advance. You can use components and run them active but you'll have to contact the company and see if they can give you the x over point between the tweet and the midrange. Also this usally voids the warranty on the speakers, thats why it is recommended to pick your speakers. This way you will know all the x over points. To find indivual speakers look on parts express or madisound. What is your headunit??

How should i wire my sub?

dual 4 ohm. i think i need to wire in series... Fi's only come in dual 1 or dual 2 Since the amp whet into protect the coils are dual 1 and you had it wired to that amp at an .50 an ohm. Run it in series and you get a 2 ohm load and you'll be good.

Amp & Sub hooked up, no output???

email sundown and see what they can tell you. The only thing I can think that is making it hot that fast (is a bad ground or your remote turn-on is hooked up to a 12v+ power source instead of a remote or ignition wire). The no sound can be bad rca's, check all your setting on your head-unit. Its either got to be a bad ground(check your headunit and battery) or incorrect remote turn on. Thanks. I posted over in the sundown forum about this. My remote turn-on only shows 12V when the headunit is on, and 0 when its off, so that seems correct. If the voltage at the speaker outputs on the amp change as i adjusted the volume on the headunit, that would indicate that the RCAs are good, right? Do u you have a ipod or a handheld cd player?? Also do u have another rca laying around?? Also do u have a an adapter that takes the rcas ends and turns them into a headphone jack?? So you are saying I should connect my ipod directly to the amp, and see if that works? I have an RCA to headphone jack adapater, I'll go try this now. I can use a battery to test the subwoofer, correct? By attaching the battery directly to the sub, the sub should move, right? Leave everything attached on the amp except for the rcas that are coming from the headunit. then plug the rcas that are on the ipod into the amp. See if you get sound now.

  18. The SSD's and the BL would be evenly powered. There is no such thing as "underpowering" either. But that has NOTHING to do with this. With his size alternator, an aftermarket AGM battery would be beneficial. Sry I didn't see he was looking a talking about a different amp. .......
  19. With my single ssd I have a voltage drop down to 13.8 on my stock jeep alt. So having 2 on a stock alt from my experience would not be good. So the bl would be better in that aspect. Also you would be allowing the bl to get to its full potential. Where the 2 ssds would be underpowered by about 500 watts.
  20. What he is saying is that premaded boxes aren't not that good I almost positive they are always tuned on the high side. Having the mtx's in a custom made box they would sound a lot better.
  21. Guessing that your vehicle has a 130amp alt and already have the amp you mentioned the bl is your best choice. If you don't have the amp or welling to sell to get a few extra bucks. You could buy some of the package deals that ssa has. Like the icon 12 and a saz1000d for 560. A icon 15 and a saz1000d for 580. Or 2 dcons 12s and sax125.2 for 485.
  22. So what is your budget and how set are you on an fi sub??
  23. sqjeep

    im a dumbass

You are better off with a recone you can go to FI's site and click on recones to find all that out.

Do you have your subwoofer wired like this??

    kicker zx750.1

Basically forget the number on the paper and use 750 as the number you use for the dmm setup. If u had an oscope you could truely set your gains to their full potential.
