I'm sure the 40 isn't as power hungry as the d9, I do kno of a 40 clamped on 18v doin around 8k or a lil more.

^^ This ^^ I had an 18" Deathrow on an SAX-1200D and the Deathrow sounded great and got nasty loud for the amount of power I was running. But if you ever plan on upgrading and going with I would definintely go with a Death Penalty. my point exactly

my opinion is this sir. if your going to run a 1500 watt amp i would consider the death rows. the dp's are rated at 1500. considering all things and with the amount of power your wanting to start out with i think you would stand to get a lil more output out of them. on the other hand if your willing to upgrade your power in the end Id go with dp's. I started out with 4 15s and a 20.1 per and I loved them. they are low end monsters thats for sure. goin with the dps would give you room to upgrade your power down the road. If you got the DR's then your power up grade would be a bit more limited.
