Bravox Audio In Stock | GROUP PRICING!

I can't find this info on Bravox's site, so I figured I would ask it here. Does anyone know what the mounting depth is on the midrange for the CS60K set? I had a JL XR tweeter fry on me and am looking to make a change.

    Sundown E8 v.2 Pre-Order

What is the recommended size for these things to go in a ported enclosure? Similar to the SA-8s? .6-1 cube? These look pretty sweet for the money.

    RLi-10s

If any has a set of used 10s for sale, let me know. My nephew would love to put a pair in his truck, but is a little low on funds to pay for brand new ones.

    ? About RLP-12's D4

RLP's are just about right on 500-1000 watts, maybe a little more. They are really sturdy subs, but I wouldn't push em that hard and risk cooking them, especially since it seems production is at a stand still for new ones. My first enclosure was about 2.2 cubes, tuned to about 30 hz, next one I am building will be about 1.5 cubes tuned to 34 hz powered by an MTX 2300. I will see what the difference is, if any, but this sub did not displease me.
  7. I walked into a local stereo shop looking to get some carpet for a speaker box and they had an Eclipse Titanium 15". I had not seen one of these in a few years. They were asking $250 for it, it was an old floor model I believe. Is that a good price for one of these? I recall they were quite a bit back then. Would $250 be worth it? I was getting ready to re-install my 12" Soundsplinter RLP into my new car and saw this and gave me second thoughts.

Eclipse SW9152 for $250, good deal?

Yeah, I don't think it has ever been used actually. Only bad thing about snapping this up is that I would have to get a new amp that can handle 2 ohm mono. I can't seem to find any actual specs on this sub either regarding enclosure size and actual power handling. Some say 750 watts rms, some say 750 watts rms per coil. The guy at the shop said he thought you could do a 15 in 1.2 cubes sealed, but I have no way of verifying that. Very bizarre for a sub that was pretty popular for a while. If anyone has any knowledge on these it would be appreciated.

    No Love for Sundown!!!!

No offense to any that work at stereo shops, but I recently went out on a trip to look for some new equipment in my hometown of Omaha. I think that being worthless is a pre-requisite to work at shops here. I stopped going to these shops and started dealing with going to online factory direct companies a while ago, and especially since I purchased a Soundsplinter RLP 12 about 5 years ago. The only thing that was in local shops that could come close to duplicating sound quality and just plain stupid loud factor was a JL W7, and those were being sold for more than 3 times what I paid for the RLP. Like many have said, the shops are in business to make money, not to ensure that all products they sell are the best quality available. Big companies have big names and sell easy for these stores. I am sure their margins for profit are good too. I am grateful for the internet providing a sensible avenue for companies like Soundsplinter and SSA and others to get their product to the masses, without having to fight with big box retailers to get others. I know that not one person that heard my sub set up walked away without a "holy shit" face. Easy to move Kicker and Fosgate, and they make decent equipment, but it just doesn't cut it for guys like us.

    1 15" Death Penalty or 2 12" Sa 12s..

More cone area is almost always going to be louder in a comparable install. So most likeley 2 12s if you are looking to get as loud as possible. I had a GP for 8 years and did plenty of custom work to it. if at all possible, port it through the rear deck. I had pretty good results, and very minimal trunk rattle. Just my .02.
  11. I bought a 12" Soundsplinter RLP 5 years ago and just recently sold the car that I had it in. I was looking to go back to the drawing board so to speak, and possibly upgrade to an RLP 15 and noticed that it seemed everything was out of stock, and now the website is down. I have looked around at other drivers, but I am having a hard time finding a woofer that is as good as the one I have, that doesn't require 1,000 watts or more to jam, doesn't take a ton of space up, and is reasonably priced. Does Mike from Soundsplinter still cruise this board? I remember he helped me out tremendously when I purchased the woofer.

What is going on with the soundsplinter website?

Glad to hear it. I thought they were dead in the water for a minute. How come the only thing that is available are RLP 12D4's? I am actually thinking of just using the RLP 12 in my new car(wife's old car) and building a new box. I can't find anyone that will buy this woofer for a fair price, and I am not going to let it go for peanuts. Love the woofer, was hoping to try a 15, but life could be much worse, so I won't complain too much.

    12" RLP on the way...

I had JL Audio 5.25" VRs before. I took the 5.25" woofer and bought 1" JL Audio XR tweeters and put them in kicks. I went to ebay and found a set of JL Audio XR 6.5" woofers and put them in the stock door pod in a new fabricated door mount.(Grand Prix's have sweet angled door pods) I found a set of Cerwin Vega Crossovers that can be used on cabinet speakers or for car use. My crossover points are 300 hz and down to the 6.5, 300-7 khz for the 5.25" and the tweeter handles the rest. I have yet to start tinkering with my eq and the sound is out of this world!

    12" RLP on the way...

Hello all. I just ordered a 12" RLP and I am going to be running it off an MTX 2300. The sub will get approximately 700 watts rms. I am debating about what enclosure I would like to use in my car. I currently am running 2 JL Audio 12w6v2's in a sealed enclosure and it sounds good, but I am looking for a little bit different sound. I would like it to have the potential for getting loud, but with precise sounding bass. Would I be better off going with a sealed enclosure again, or should I try a ported enclosure? Also, as far as vented/ported, does slot ports or round ones matter?

    12" RLP on the way...

Ok, got the sub hooked up yesterday, FINALLY! The words "Holy" and "chit" come to mind. This single sub is as loud as my w6v2's in the sealed box and louder on a few songs. WOW! Sound quality is excellent. I ended up putting the port on the box on the top and have the port mouth open up to the vacant factory 6x9 opening in the rear deck. Along with the custom 3 way components I installed, I have the sound quality I have been looking for, and the money I saved by selling my JL's allowed me to get the equipment in a wash. My cousin was helping me this weekend and I know he will be spreading the word around Dallas when he goes home. I believe he described as "For 1 12"...that's just silly!"

    12" RLP on the way...

Ok, I am finally starting on the box tomorrow. I have one final question, though. I have decided on going with 2.0 cubes and porting it with a 4" aeroport at roughly 34 hz. I am trying to figure out the area of my port and I just want to make sure I am doing this correctly. The 4" port will be 12" long, I ended up coming up with .09 cubic feet that it will take up using a calculator I found online. Does this sound about right?

    My RL-p 12" doesn't sound good

My buddy used an LOC in his Dodge Ram to interface his factory cd player and his subs sounded like complete s**t with it(of course they were Treo's though ). He got a Sony Xplod head unit with a 4 volt output to his amp and it was like night and day.

    12" RLP on the way...

Yeah, that's me. I can't believe that crap. I have never had a problem with Fedex before. Now DHL, that's a different story altogether. I just can't wait to get this box built so I can finally hear that beast!

    12" RLP on the way...

Ok, got the RLP today FINALLY! Thanks, Mike. What a nightmare! This thing is a monster! It weighs about 12 pounds more than a JL w6v2. My car is now scattered across my basement and the re-modelling of my system is under way!

    12" RLP on the way...

I never ported the w6v2's because they got way loud enough for me in a sealed box that I never felt the need to port them. That and I had no idea how to make a vented box with slot ports that would fit every nook and cranny in my trunk.

    Hello

Hi all. Just ordered a RLP-12 based on the recommendations of several people on sounddomain.com. Can't wait to hear it!

I think I am going to try and get my hands on a 4" round aeroport. Thanks for the advice fellas. I can't wait for the sub to get here.

    12" RLP on the way...

With 2 3" ports I would be avoiding port whistle? Or do I need to round the edge of the port or what? Sorry for all the questions, but like I stated before I am a newbie to ported enclosures. I appreciate the advice.

    12" RLP on the way...

Ok, well the box most likely isn't even going to be 22" wide. Does it matter where the port is located on the box?
