I am still open to going ported, I just want to be 100% sure I wont get any port noise. The box is gonna be right behind me in my ex cab ranger.

I have been doing tons of searching here and on other forums as I try to figure out exactly what I want to go into my next build. My question here is on subs. I have it narrowed down to three choices(til someone decides to throw something else into the mix). Diamond Audio D6, Fi Q, and SSA ICON. I will be using 2 15" drivers in an ex cab ranger. Most likely sealed at about 5 cubes. They will be seeing 1800rms from a T1500-1BD. I like it loud and clear. Tight and accurate all the way down to 40hz and lower. I like flat response, not too crazy peaky(except some hip-hop). I listen to anything, mostly rock though. I am looking to see if anyone can compare the Diamonds to the others. I talked to Mark and John here in AZ and they said the ICON and Q are very similar. I also read on here somewhere that in sealed the Q has an advantage. Just looking for some more opinions. Any help is great. Thanks in advance.

No, the 18s in the SantaFe. That windshield flexed like 2 inches. That 300 does look pretty slick though. I dont know how loud mine is. I think I need one more mono block and a pair of those new xxx Soundstream 12's proto types. Mine is louder than all my friends but thats not saying much with them guys. I know I can put a sheet of paper in the window and make it flap with the wind from the subs. And you can stand out side the car and feel your pants shake and move. But I am not sure that is loud enought for me anymore. I could try and squeze a bigger box in the trunk. I built my box. 3.75 slot ported to 26.5 hz. Sound beautiful. got two Soundstream Turantula 12's ran by a PA-PS1-3000D mono block dropped to .5ohms @ 14.7 = 1,764 watts peak, 1440RMS. I dont know what the Cavaliers vehical freq is. Last time I metered I had it ran at 2 ohms and that was 135.7 I think this new configuration should be 5 points higher.???? What do you think. I'd help ya out if I could but I have no experience with SPL numbers. Never metered, or really care to for that matter. Maybe I will once my new setup is finished.

How big of a difference is the sound quality of the xcons compared to the others I listed. I am not going for numbers or anything. Just a great sounding daily that can get decently loud if I want to.

What exactly do you mean when you say it would beat the others? Just louder? How would it sound compared to two 15"?
