48:28 treadmill 5k before work this morning

so long time, no post. Update I lost a lot of motivation in the last 2 months or so. I hate to make excuses but school and work during November and December took a toll on my workout/diet routine. The holidays did not help. I have hit a stand still and gained back a few lbs, back up to 274. Now for the good. I am back on my diet and back in the gym. Last night I decided to extend my treadmill jog to 3.1 miles( 5k) just to get a feel for it. Now this is the first time in about 8 weeks that I have worked out and also the first time ever for this type of distance/duration. Though a combination of speedwalk, running, and jogging, I hit 5k in 55:50. I was pretty excited for under 1 hour, even if it is just treadmill.

Took some shrooms? haha. not quite. went out for dinner and drinks for my best friend's bday. i have been close friends with the toilet for the last 48 hours

first night back in the gym. i did 1.25 miles in about 18 minutes. i walked/jogged at 3-4 mph for most, but pushed my self to run at 6-7 mph for short sprints. i ran for 1 minute at 7 mph at the end to push myself. Im am bad out of shape, but i am trying

just spent about an hour at a running store in biloxi and got fitted. i am the proud owner of a pair green gecko Brooks Purecadence!! they are so awesome. i cannot wait to get back to Baton rouge to hit the gym. look for episode 5 of from fat to 5k. shooting on vacation and editing this week when i get home

so among the many things that can and will go wrong(i.e. wife and son in hospital sick, daughter with my maw maw sick, a damn hurricane) , my car is crapping out. the mechanic diagnosed it with a bad throttle body. 900 from dealer, 730 on internet, and a whopping $24 from a junkyard...if i can find one; no luck so far. the part that troubles me is that in additon to this problem, the mechanic tells me he concerend about my engine. i have 93,000 miles and he said the engine is wearing out as if has double or triple that. i bought the car in September of 05 as a demo with 27,000 on it. i can attest that in the last seven years, the car has been regularly maintained and serviced. i have never driven it hard. its never been in a flood, or any other extreme situation that would explain premature wear. what do i do? the mechanic says he thinks it will last me another 50k miles or so. that could be as much as another 5 years or as little as 2. i had my heart set on keeping it

it is in fact an 05 camry le, with 2.4 l i4 engine. the only reason the mechanics words hold water is that he did not try and upsell me or any other bull shit. i have had a little smoke when starting fo a while and assumed a head gascet would need to be replaced. i am not mechanicly inclined at all though

couldn't get their menu to work on mobile device. just found the part at lkq near me for arround 300 and they pull it. just gotta weight til next week once tropical storm aftermath dies down. i just dont get the other problems. it smokes a little on start up,etc.

That's why I believe this very subject is one of the BEST purposes behind this and any other forum online, no matter what it's basis. Forums, although they can easily be wrought with more false information than not, are a great way for the beginners to read, study and learn about the companies that make products that are respectable and the ones who should never be trusted. The BEST part about his forum is that no matter who the correct information pisses off, it's ALWAYS available to read, and I suppose as long as the information was in the right context even if it was false. It's also my belief that those of us who are, or would be considered veterans in the hobby have a right and a duty to help inform those young kids to help keep them from getting flim-flammed in the first place. Even if they don't listen, getting the bug in their ear, or the doubt in their mind will help to shape their choices at some point in the future. In a perfect world those companies wouldn't exist because no one would buy their products. That will never happen, but if at least one person reads a thread like this, understands it, and doesn't help support companies that out right lie about their products then I feel we and the forum have done our jobs. Sorry for the rant guys. like this a lot

It's all in the rating. There is no standard for rating amplifiers, although CEA has come close, but it's still flawed. Technically, they can make that power, but at a frequency the amp will never produce at a load it will never see, yeah, you get the idea. That and really, even if it is a flat out lie, are you going to spend the tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees it would likely take to bring a claim against them in court for false advertising on a $200 amplifier? It wouldn't be a simple as just filing suit in court. You'd need tests to prove it was a lie, and they would have tests to prove it wasn't so you would need to have an expert explain why their tests are wrong and yours are right, and the case would get delayed and continued for probably years on end. Simply not worth it for anybody to waste their time. definitley not something i would fight, because i buy and will continue buy quality stuff. it just sucks for young kids who are gonna get flim-flammed.

so how are companies aloud to make these claims and not get called out and shut down? not that its against the law, but its false advertisement. and the fact that places like sonicelectronix,woofers etc, and crutcfield sell them. wtf?

i'll stick with my sundown saz-1500 anyday, but i was scratching my head if it was possible to make that much power for that cheap.
