It'll be shown, yes. Hopefully it gets some good looks. It's all about the sound :)

Jamie,

15". Dual 2. Specs are big ;) It's jlaine's custom HT driver, that I'm going to be putting in-car obviously.

Petey,

Thanks :)

Bigger,

Paid a decent chunk. Not as much as one might think, but if you were to go in yourself, design one, and buy something like it ... it don't think it would be quite affordable anymore.

Kent,

Thanks :D Just gotta finish the enclosure and get an amp and I'm set :)

I can't get enough fo that thing! It'd look better with a dark metallic gray basket though. Kinda like the Viper gray.

I think it would look awesome in almost any color. I'm undecided on chrome.

Black with a clearcoat would be cool.

Arrival blue metallic, the Corvette precision red (maybe with a metallic), victory red, etc ... stealing colors from GM here. Bright red or blue would look awesome. Ah well, maybe sometime in the future.

How bout electron blue metallic?

BTW, what kind of a home sub would have an rms of 1500 watts and be a dual 2 ohm woofer? Doesn't sound too practical in the HT environment, but I bet it will do great in the car. What will be the specs of your box?

Is that woofer kind of like a tumult? Does it play low really good?

I bet my 15 is louder :o Yours is definately just as sexy though

If you only knew. I personally thing the UBERWOOFA is sexier than the XXX and I'm pretty sure it would stomp all over it given the right application. Time for you guys to get together and have some fun!

Electron blue would look cool.

I didn't say it had an RMS of 1500 :P It'll take a hell of a lot more than that. 1.4 cubes sealed. Ported enclosure later, don't know specs of that yet. It was built for an HT environment, but I think it'll do really well in-car.

Oh you bet it'll go low ... real low.

Not shooting for it being deafening loud, but I'd put money on it that it would get real close to an XXX.

Power Acoustik, ugh ... never had good luck. Lloyd benched the BX1500D and it basically sucks ... at this rate it'll be Christmas before I get something.

And yes, that's quite the frickin drive. If any of you are even remotely close to me, let me know and I'll do what I can to give you a listen.

Might be able to get some meter time next year. I'd love to see the difference between the sealed and ported box.

12 volts

2.57 actual ohm load ( = 1 ohm nominal)

931 watts

Which is pretty bad.

Yes, it's at 12 volts ... he still thinks there should have been more power.

Sucks for me.

Wow that sucks... No wonder I noticed a huge difference going to a PA 2250 from that hifonics. I think the raise in voltage would only be good for another 120 watts or so though. Unless he was doing 16 v. lol.

Yeah, either way I'm still not impressed.

And that was basically the only amp in my price range that did sufficient power.
