FL 12 - Finally Audiophile from IA

Recommended Posts

Who would have ever thought IA could make an SQ woofer? Apparently the word on the street is we only make loud SPL drivers. Look again..

Yep!!!

So Hick is fussing about pics already! Which he always does when I'm not prepared to show anything. So I grabbed some parts and took some pics to give you an idea and to shut him up.

Black chrome?

Pricing and size ranges?

Black Nickel finish - Standard 12's and 15's.

Looks like black nickel plating, which I like aesthetically. Uses ADC (right acronym? Air Driven Cooling?) which is an excellent concept. Clearly an underhung driver but probably with a fairly small coil judging by published Xmax and the height of the top plate in the picture.

Any copper? Presumably single progressive spider? Maybe dual...hard to tell if it is progressive either from the picture.

A little low on efficiency. Not a real concern, though, in my opinion.

Looks good. But Nick, I thought you said flat cone, hence the name flatline.

Flatlyne is referring to the BL curve :)

Overhung or underhung? Look like OH from the pics as it seems you can see coil between the top plate and the basket, but that thick of a top plate looks like an UH driver.
