I think Jon is saying he doesn't want to take the handout as he feels he can take care of himself rather than rely on a social program. If more people did that we would have a lot less problems in the world.

I don't think I could survive without assistance if I lost my job.... But if I'm makng money I would find it really hard to take a gubment programs help.

I'm not a slacker, or trying to live off the government, but if I can't afford health insurance, and there's an available government option, I'd opt for it.

I just wish healthcare was actually affordable for everyone, but the only way for that to become a reality is a government option that creates competition in the health insurance market, destroying the monopoly, but I guess that makes me a socialist?

My father runs his own business and therefore purchases his own healthcare, through bluecross blueshield, for him and I, it was around 900 per month, where as most others that work for a large company either get it as a benefit, or it's substantially lower.

One of our friends is a school teacher, aside from his being included as a benefit, he was able to add his two kids and wife to his plan, and it costs him less then 400 per month. He also happens to have the exact same plan as we do, from the same provider. The only difference is, he belongs to a larger pool with bargaining rights, where as were "two people" and the health insurance companies could really care less about insuring us.

I'm sure many of you will read this, perhaps partially agree, but still disagree with the idea of universal healthcare. I guess no matter what, someone feels they get the short end of the stick.

I fully agree that the US should have universal healthcare and I fully agree on what you said.

I don't like that people are rejected from getting healthcare due to "preexisting conditions".

I don't like how much money the health insurance companies make, nor the monopoly.

I see your point, and agree considering you can afford your doctor visits and stuff.

Things just get fucked up when you need surgery, and simply cannot pay for it.

Several years ago, my father had an accident, after the deductible, and insurance paying 80%, with 20% left for us, the bill was over 30k. Most people don't just have 30k sitting around. :ughdunno:

I can switch and get a plan from anyone considering my age and no preexisting conditions, my father on the other hand (49), has a backissue (not a big deal anymore), but checking out several other insurance companies, and they simply won't cover him.

Whoa there social reform friends. There is no such thing as prexisting conditions now. And it raised the cost of insurance by a market total of 13% or so.

Secondly no one is denied medical care, preventitive or otherwise from public hospitals. I work for one as does my wife and I can tell you right now most write off more than they get paid in most instances if you don't have insurance.

3rd 900 bucks for 2 people is cheep as Hell. It's well into the 1000's here for good coverage. Fact is that the EMPLOYER pays for most of it. That teachers insurance is probably a 1500 dollar plan. But the job pays 1100 for it.

I would rather have the extra 1100 a month and buy whatever the fuck I want than be on some employer negotiated plan. Getting tax cuts for healthcare is the dumbest Damn thing we do in the US. But people don't understand that the cost of benefits is more that they pay on their check.... So the cycle continues.

Imagine if you made an extra 20% but got no benefits. You would only have the kids you can afford and at least take a fucking interest in your benefits and get what you need. But John Q Public is a self centered ass who says "why shouldn't I have all the cool stuff those other people who planned have!"

Damnit that mentality Pissed me off.

The worst 11 fucking words anyone can ever hear are "we're here from the government and we're here to help"

Universal health care is a fucking waste of time. So is the opposite of granting benefits to people/employers for benefit programs. It allows the market to be controlled and monopoly programs to be made.

It's not part of infrastructure so stay the fuck out. A government option for roads, for military, for emergency aid etc....... Perhaps. Fuck even broadband communications should fall under the preview of infrastructure. We are behind Korea for fucks sake. But leave my cock and balls and flu shots and everything else that is my choice up to me.

If I don't want to drive I don't have to. If I don't want to surf the net fine. But don't flex the costs to persuade the public on what they should and should not do for health concerns.

And if someone denies you due to preexisting problems they are liars. Federal rules have made preexisting conditions illegal.

If I dropped my health care plan, just went to the hospital, and got all the treatment I needed without paying for it, and they wrote it off, doesn't that raise the overall cost for everyone that is paying for health insurance.

I would agree to your remark of getting an extra 1100 a month and choosing how you spent it (whether it be on your own healthcare plan, or not), but what proof do you have that you would get 1100, and not much less (due to the fact that large businesses likely pay less for their plans then sole individuals)?

I'm heavily debating putting more power on my mids, the belle is only 75W@4ohm and the P18s are 8ohm :)

And bandpassed they can take some serious power. Of course, I'd still argue that imrpoving the enclosure is an easier way of livening up the bottom end.

Aside from increasing volume, possibly aperiodic?
