I/m gonna go with the 75'.

I'm sure do to its age and time of construction, its made of more metal than the 01'

That should give you something more solid to beat the piss out of. And i can only

assume that its going to be easier to work on as with most older cars, they used more

screws than they use cheap breakable clips like they do these days...

Just a matter of opinion.....

Which one will give you more usable space?

I see the '01 is the L series, with the extra 6" in the rear - won't that equate to an extra 10 cubes or so over a standard model? I'd think you'd be able to put (4) 18's in there, as opposed to doing 15's in a standard model. If the '75 has a comparable amount of interior room, it's probably more solid (more metal) than the '01.....

And why worry about the headliner replacement? Take it out, deaden the snot out of the roof (4-5 or more layers of mat), then make the top of the enclosure out of fiberglass, at least 1/2" thick, conforming to the roofline and back window. Hell, why not do the ENTIRE enclosure (except for the front baffle) out of 'glass? Maximize your space!

Then just put the headliner for the front half of the roof back in?

good ideas floating around..

the L has more room for sure.

the 16 volt system seems to be alot of trouble for everyday guys... from what i have seen so far.. but it is a great option to have!

and as far as the SMDAA subs....... they look sweet and im sure they will be...

but im team sundown baby...ITS GOING DOWN.... SUNDOWN.

I'm with Berger on the durability issue, metal beats plastic any day. '75.

I voted '75. You can't beat having a classic car to show off in.

Plus, with older cars, the electrical is going to be easier to work on. No PCM/ECU controlled alts. One wire. One belt.

I'd do a dual 16v setup, with a 12v step down to run the vehicle electrical. Dual 200's shouldn't be too expensive. The hood space is, I'm sure, massive.

Pick up another 3000D, grab a Maxxlink. 4-6 D3100's. Rock out with your cack out.

I vote 01. That extra space with in the back seats will help and like you said, you have the option of a dual alt set up.

You wanna go wall?!?

Remember when Alma Gates and her Bronco were at the top of the heap? The Ramcharger has similar dimensions.... AND it's all metal! I'm willing to bet you could do (8) 18's in a W-shaped wall right behind the front seats pretty easily.......
