rlp 18's wired in series?

Recommended Posts

Since the rl-p 18 d4's wont be in stock for a while, i think im just going to get the d2's and run them in a series off of an audioque 2200d giving them around 600 watts a piece. Would this be ok? The jl audio website says running multiple subs in series is not reccomended, is this true?

JL just wants to sell their subs with their amps.

Running in series is fine. T/S parameters are measured with the coils of a woofer in series in most cases.

2 voice coils on the same former, wired in series is absolutely fine. 2 voice coils on diffrent formers isn't that good because of back emf and a small phase shift. ( I really can't remember all the details).

If you are buying 2 dvc2 subs, just wire the coils on each sub in series and then wire the subs in parallel.
