$400 isn't *that* great, in all honesty...

for 400 one could pick up a QSC RMX1450...1.4kW at 4 ohms. Sure, you'd have to modify it to get rid of that fan noise, but hey...the smaller RMX850 goes for $300.

I'm just female doging because I'm spending all my cash right now on the full range project and don't have enough left over for an amp, but still...

If I were to power the sub in the house, I'd be tempted to go with a little bit more power. I can surely deal with the fan noise from a QSC.

the last thread in there says 330 shipped for the 1kW and 250 shipped for the 500 watter, that's the max rating though, still a good price, not sure if i can get one now since i am going for a good receiver first.
