Arthur from Indy

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. Arthur from Indianapolis here. I am a professional drummer and work as a hired gun for various tours around the world. My most recent tour was a stint with The Blue Man Group and have also played with The Fortunes from Coventry England and others. I got out of car audio for about 15 years and now have dove in again and you guys are spending all of my cash!!!! I have a big Arc audio system but now am in the process of doing the Sundown/ Fi/ Focal/Kinetic/ Alpine system. Amazing what I have learned and relearned on these forums! Thanks, Arthur

Nice! what set do you have? and cymbals? I assume you play just about every aux percussion instrument too ;)

My main kit is a 1996 DW 6 piece with Zildjian cymbals. My metal kit is an 11 piece Tama kit/Zildjian cymbals and I also have a Premeir kit and tons of odds and ends. If you think car audio is expensive, try buying a top of the line drumkit with cymbals, cases, mics, etc. and you are easily over $10K. Love it though! Tell me how to use the photo uploader and I'll show ya! I tried photobucket, but??????

Did you ever do the neon thing? The blue man group I saw in Vegas, the bands were painted neon colors. It was freaking badass man.

Oh yeah, all kinds of crazy stuff. I lived and played in Vegas for about 6 years with The Fortunes, whose hits in the 70's were "here comes that rainy day feeling" and "You've got your troubles, I've got mine". Then when I moved back to Indy I got the touring gig with BMG. Now just teaching privately and playing in the area. Touring takes a toll, even on a million dollar bus, it's STILL a bus! Now I am back to spending all my cash on car audio!!!!

Mine is a 1987 Imperialstar! Says "Made In Japan" got it from a local music store during a "Crazy Day" sidewalk sale.

Hang on to those, unless you sell them to me! ha ha Tama discontinued that line and then last year they reintroduced them, but as their entry level, kinda like Orion HCCA amps compared to now.

BTW, I played at an Indian casino a few years back in South Dakota , I think it was the royal river. I remember because here we show up with all of these busses and semis and played in this little lounge. They treated us very well, until we got hammered and then escorted to our rooms by the security. great times!

Welcome to SSA. Pretty impressive background. :) I did touring merch and PR for a little while (9/11 ended it). I miss it from time to time. On some of the smaller tours we were not lucky enough to be on the buses, but the money was awesome and it was very exciting.
