It got a little wavy in some spots from the spray foam, as well as the welds, but that can all be fixed in the future.

for now, im as happy as can be.

was that done with arch or mig.... I cant tell if it was spotted with 7018 or forgot to turn the argon on with the mig??? Be careful if any more cracks start they will start right along the sides of the welds that were put down Tungsten or heli arch would have stopped that...sick set up though man

...Tungsten And Heli Arc Are The Same Thing. Tig.

And If You Can Actually Weld With A Mig On Gas, (Not Flux Core, I Hate That Shit.) That Wouldn't Happen.

Doesn't Look Like He Used A 7018 Rod On Anything, But I Could Be Wrong.

And That Reminds Me, I Need To Get A New Spool Of Wire And A Roller For My Lincoln SP-250 Idealarc. -_-

Anyone Have Any Ideas On A Little Ass Car I Can Throw A 21" Warden In For Pure SPL? :D

i have no idea

just a regular Mig welder with the rod that comes out of the tube when the trigger is pressed.

plugs into standard 120v

That Would Be The Problem, 99% Sure That's Flux Core, And Low Voltage.

And That Square Tubing Isn't Thick Walled, I'm Guessing.

The Correct Way Would've Been To Lay Down Bent And Formed 1/8th Inch Strip Metal On The Roof Around 5 Inches Apart, Then Doing It Sideways, And Basically Welding A Frame To Actually Support The Square Tubing. I Would Have Also Added Braces From The Middle Of The Roof, On Each Side, Running To The B Pillars Made Out Of Square Tubing, Tacked It With Aluminum Roof Flashing Or 20 Ga. Sheet Metal, And Then Carpeting Over It So It Looked Nice.

When You Weld Square Tubing To A Concave Surface, And It Isn't Formed, Especially Without Bracing, And With As Much Flex As You Have, Those Welds WILL Seperate. But, I Can't Ask You To Drive To Texas For Me To Do It.

I drove a black 98 Metro with chrome hubcaps to college for about 2 years.....this was when gas was .89 per gallon, so I spent about $10 per week on gas........and I lived 40+ miles from school :)

Oh, and the 1.3l 5 speed will burn tires like nobodys business!

Again, You're A Genius, That's The Exact Vehicle I Was Looking For.

Now I've Got To Find One, And Figure Out How To Cram That Sucker Full Of Amps And A Warden 21".

Plus My Big Ass.

but amps and batteries in the passenger seat.

now as far as the bracing.

you think welding strips going from side to side, then thicker tubing along the strips fron front to back would have been better?

hmmmmmm

i plan to cover it when something once im all set and done.
