Box Design for 2 RL-p 15s?

Recommended Posts

I am looking to build a box for 2 15 rl-ps. My max dimensions are 44 D x 17 h x 19 D. I am looking to put both subs on the left side with the port all the way to the right side. I want to tune to about 30 hz. Thanks.

Contact jellyfish420, he did my plan for my 2 RL-p 15's tuned to 34Hz so well that even mike told me that they will bang.

I do plans as well, but if you are in a hurry, use someone else as I am in the middle of a move.

I don't do pretty plans with a cut sheet et al, but I can give You the dimensions and everything that You need :)

To clarify, You want (2) RLp 15"s in 2.5cu ft total? Tuned to 30hz. How much wattage RMS?

Post that info and I can run a design through BBP6 for You.

No, Im sorry I want it to be 5 cu. ft. Net after displacement total. I haven't decided on the amp yet but it will be giving them about 750-1000 watts rms per sub :D

1 Top, 1 Bottom: 19 x 42 x 0.75 (thick)

1 Back: 15.5 x 40.5 x 0.75 (thick)

1 Front: 15.5 x 36.5 x 0.75 (thick)

2 Sides: 15.5 x 19 x 0.75 (thick)

Vb = 5.073 cu.ft / Fb = 34.17 Hz / F3 = 36 Hz

Vent: 15.5 High x 4 Wide x 23 long.

The vent length includes 0.75 for the front baffle > an initial 13.5" board > 8" "U" Turn > 4.75" second board (to make the "U" Turn).

Yes, sry I want 30 hz. Also, is that 5.073 cubes before sub displacement? because I need to factor that in as well. I can go 44 inches wide if that will help. Thanks again.

Also, I am thinking I want a 1.5 inch front baffle. Thanks again for your help.

If I make the port boards longer, will it lower my tuning? I need it to be tuned to 30-32 hz and I need to start building in a day or two. Is my port going to look like Erics box here? witht he boards being 13.5, 8, and 4.75??

My RL-Ps come in Wednesday so I need to get started... And sorry about all the questions... I just need to figure out my port... I think Im going to make the box 44 inches wide. Thanks

i have had mine in several diff boxes....

5ft @ 37Hz

6ft @ 23Hz

6ft @ 31Hz

and finaly 6.5ft @ 27Hz

and if you have the room i would strongly suggest the 6.5ft :)

these wang the hardest they ever have in this box :D

i don't know how they would do w/ 3000w :(

but i have been thinking about getting another ega1400d and strapping the pair to my subs :ohsnap:

i'd just have to gain them down a little, besides it'd be better to have too much power and not use it all, then not enough and clip the hel out of it :D
