Finished up my big 3, took about 5 hours due to the fact i made everything, the terminals and such

DSC00878.jpg

Alt ground

DSC00879.jpg

run from alt to + battery terminal

DSC00880.jpg

Terminal i had to make because the dumb bolt is way down, made of copper tubing that has been smashed and bent slightly with a bolt on the top of ot shaped like an L

DSC00881.jpg

DSC00882.jpg

everything nice n' clean

DSC00883.jpg

That's all for now folks

What a money saver, made your own terminals. How do they work for you?

Fantastic, i think i got... 10 or 12 out of a 6 dollar pipe and they're pretty big i personally think they're easier to put the wire in and press it down, also you can make them as long, as short, the size of the hole, quite nice.

when you use a thumb drive it looks through it to find ALL the songs, the more files + folders it has the longer it takes, and its obnoxiously long.

ok here is your design-

julian.jpg

Specs - 4.00 cuft NET tuned to ~34.5hz

Box External-

37" wide

16" high

21" deep

Box Internal-

35.5" wide

14.5" high

18.75" deep

Using double baffle!

Port 1-

14.5" high x 4.5" wide x 18.75" deep

Port 2-

14.5" high x 4.5" wide x 7" deep

That is internally measured, build according to pic.

you can use allthread or dowel for bracing. for some other areas not touched, simple small L brackets or small pieces of wood can be used to attach to other areas if necessary.

two ports?

or is it getting like an insert like a removeable port?

two ports?

or is it getting like an insert like a removeable port?

the two ports he is reffering to is the 2 different pieces of wood used for the "L" shaped port

18.75" long for the long part of the "L"

7" long for the short part of the "L"

hope that helps..

when doin grounds, if you are unsure of whether the ground spot u chose is the best, do this-

get some jumper cables and only use the ground side and connect one end to the negative battery post and the other end to where you are grounding at.

Whip out the dmm and measure what your voltage is at the battery before and after doing this.

If the voltage goes up, you need a better ground, if it stays the same, the ground location is great.

When running batts in the back of the vehicle, if you have a measureable voltage drop of more than .1-.2v, run a cable from the rear grounding terminal on one fo the batts to the grounding terminal on the front battery.

If the measured voltage on the rear batts increase, you need a better ground or more runs. IF you think the runs are sufficient and can't get a better ground, run another large cable dedicated solely as a grounding cable from the front to the rear batt bank.

Jumper cables and a dmm will help find an answer to voltage issues like these quick.

I'd also like to add that when measuring voltage in the rear, it's best to have the car revved slightly just in case your alt doesn't "turn on" on your car's actual idle speed.

Also, when using jumper cables, do NOT have a crazy monsterous load goin on either, most jumper cables aren't even 1/0 and i wouldnt want anyone melting wire from leaving them connected from a crazy load.

You shouldn't even really need a load other than the car being on. that should be plenty to measure voltage issues and grounding locations.

This is the method i use and i gotta say, u don't know what's good ground til you test it and some places may shock you as good and bad places to use in terms of resistance...

Thanks, everything was sanded down to a bare metal sheen, just shortened it up due to the fact that i needed some wire also because it makes it look cleaner :)

Btw, i posted a reply to my wall thread i posted with some details/pics

I knew when you complained about the battery terminal what car it was, lol. I have a 97 lumee. I did my grounds under the hood pretty much the sane way. I did sand it down like a bish though. Great build though man!
