I wana port my sealed box Help Plox

Recommended Posts

Height = 13Inches

Width = 48 Inches split in half for two seperate compartments one for each sub.

Depth1 = 6.5 Inches top

Depth2 = 12 Inches bottem

Now I donw know much about porting or tuneing. Im running two CVX's dual 2ohm VC wired @ 2ohm load off a 1500.1 zx

This long skinny box fits behind my two seats in my pickup truck with one sub behind each seat. When my cousin made the box for me he put a board in the center to seperate the two subs so they both have different compartments. I wanted to maybe port the box to get a deeper boom. But i have no clue how big to cut a port hole...

VentedCompact (MinimumEnclosureVolume

from the manual

CVX12

1.75 ft3 (49.6L) + port displacement

2.5 x 12.5” (6.4x31.8cm) port, 20” (50.8cm) long

Power Handling = 300W RMS

SealedCompact (MinimumEnclosureVolume

1.0 ft3 (28.3L) Power Handling = 750W RMS

i seem to be @ 1.11

acording to Speaker Enclosure Volume Calculator

and yes im running 0.75 inch thick MDF board.

would it be bad to just port one side for just one speaker or just port both and be done with it! or LOL ur box is to small to port ?

sorry for noobing it. But im sure ill get the information im looking for here Most everyone ive talked to sofar know's way more then my self

ur box isnt big enough to go ported. you could put a 4" diameter pvc pipe that is 12 and a half inches long in each side of the box and that would tune it to about 35 hz. the box would only be 1.1 cubes per side though...but u could do it.
