I'm going to be redoing my whole truck, i have some of the equipment listed already and will be buying much more very soon.

Truck:

1986 GMC Sonoma Ext Cab

Lexani rims

Pirelli tires

Chameleon paint

Stock Interior

Equipment:

Enclosure: Wall or Blowthrough

Subs: (2) 15" or 18" Fi BTL

Sub Amp: (2) AQ 2200

Front Stage: (4) Alpine Type R 6.5 component sets

Front Stage Amp: (2) Alpine PDX 4.100

Wiring: KnuKonceptz

Batt(s): XS Power

Sound Deadener: Sound Deadener Showdown

Alternator: 350 amp DC Power

Cool man, looks like so have some good progress so far!! If you need help with anything let me know. And i will get the prices for the lift soon. I have been so busy i havent had a chance to do it yet. Sorry man!!

Make sure to router the edges so it "flows" into the door panels better. Otherwise, good start.

I'd personally use a ply board instead of a solid one. You also want to bolt the board to the metal of the door and not hang it on the door card.

This is what I did. That solid piece will make the door very heavy.

And I did mean to say round over the edges. ;)

Not only heavy, but acoustically terrible in comparison.

The wood is pretty light, its waaaay lighter then MDF.

I was thinking about using self tapping screws and attach it like that.

If i was to bolt it how would i be able to hold the bolt and tighten the nut when the door panel would be against the door?

I'm going to buy carpet or suede today, the wood is painted black. Will post pictures today.

Little update:

I got one panel painted and the other one is ready, i weighed the wood to see if it'll really take an effect.

Both 3/4 pieces weighs in at:

how are you painting them????what color?? have you thought about wrapping them in like vynil or anything like that...

They will be rattle can sprayed black, a couple coats. Then they will be wrapped in either black carpet or black suede.

My headliner and A pillars are black suede, so i will probably go with that.

I am painting them black with a rattle can so if a small blemish or tear happens it will not be as noticeable as if there was no black paint.

hahaha you should have seen it with the old rims, you know the kind that is pretty much used on every low rider with hydraulics? -- oh yeah.. it was bad news.

Down here they get thrown on everything... worst I've seen them on is a Honda Civic stickin' about 8" out from the car :suicide-santa:
