hole in subwoofer

A drill went through my subwoofer (foam surround, not the actual subwoofer) while taking it out of its enclosure. The hole is about an inch long, what do I need to do to fix it? Is there some sort of kit I can buy, if so where at?

It will probably eventually tear in which you will need a recone... What sub is it?

That Happened To Mine as i was taking backing out the scews to take the sub out of my enclosure.

Stupid regular screws

Thats why i will only use the + cross phillips head ones now.

Anyway

Mine however was about half an inch big

i uses Ultra Clear superglue and put it back to normal and smoothed everything out

barely noticable !!

There is not a way to just fix the hole? But it is the 15 FI BL

the only free way i know to fix this would be a bit of silicone on the front and back on the tear....

but thats a bit ghetto

also the sub will have to dry open air....some silicone will put off an acidic vapor when it drys.....

and i have seen this hold up over a year or less than a month.....

if its a fi i would pay for a re cone

what kind of surround I used a innertube repair kit when that happened to me once. There is also a rubber tape that'll work but get some spray adheisive to reinforce the bond

Silicone caulk will do the trick. Obviously a recone will completely fix it, but the caulk will work fine.

It wasnt the screws, that is always why you should use a guide when drilling a screw in whether it is your finger or the one attached to the drill(if available).

I put a screw through my finger not that long ago. It is still messed up.

caulk, silicone, any adhesive that is flexible dont use super glue it dont bend and looks nasty

Did you pre-drill at first to make the screw go in with ease instead of having to force the screw in from the start? Ouch sounds painful, never had that happen to me.

Also OP, take a picture so we can see if the hole is bad or not (whether simple or extreme measures need to be taken).

I used super glue and it worked fine. But mine was tiny. It was gorilla super glue.

I don't understand why people use drills to put screws for subs in boxes. If you have a guide over the screw and drill head I guess that's fine. But man, give me a screwdriver any day. That's the way I've always put my screws in. Sure it takes 5 minutes longer and you actually have to use some arm muscles, but it's so much easier to control and I have never even slipped once.

i've never slipped using the drill yet but carpeting my box i slipped with the exacto knife and lets just say my finger needed superglue b/c the wait at the hospital was six hours for 4 stichest so i used a bottle of super glue to hold it together

Did it once on a cheap Flea Market sub, But didn't make a big hole, heck it was barely noticeable.....

Put tape on the backside of the foam, then rubber cement it from the front. After it dries take off the tape.

Superglue stiffens up the foam too much.

My adire audio shivas were banged up with random holes and rubber cement worked better than anything else I tried...
