US Amps Group Buy Interest

Recommended Posts

Group Buy on Merlin MD-21 and AX-600DE and possibly the AXTU600C.

US Amps have decided to end the Merlin line a little while back. There are few new left in existence. We, the SSA Store, can do a short group buy on the Merlin MD-21 & AX-600DE & AX TU-600C. The MD-21's are excellent smaller 2 channel amps, the AX600DE is a high end small footprint mono block and the AX TU600C are tube 4 channel amps, once they are gone. Now this topic is to gauge if people are actually going to do it, DO NOT POST IF YOU ARE WINDOW SHOPPING!

Aaron, is the 600DE the old one that looks the same as the Merlins, or the new dull gray look?

If it's the old ones, count me in for 1.

It is the new one, I believe near black/dark gun metal grey.

I am not too worried about looks, as it is a sweet amp and would be perfect for a pair of Dcon's. :)

For drivers, I have no concern; amplifiers on the other hand, should be a focal point of the install and must be appealing. Unfortunately, the new amps are not appealing (aesthetically), to me.

Technically, these are now the old amps as the VLX line will be replacing the Merlins and the AX. ;)

Guys I run the AX line in my second car. I have the 600de pushing an IDMAX12D2 and it is very strong. Great amp with small footprint. Don't count it out because, it doesn't kick out 1.21 Gigawatts. I have also run the AXTU4360 for highs and midbass. I believe that the AXTU600C is a 2 channel amp though-- an excellent choice for midbass duty. I did feel like the highs were a little harsh on these amps though. When I used the AXTU4360 for midbass duty I was really happy. The best price I could find on the TU600 was $599, so this is a steal.
