thanks for the compliments....

made a little more progress on the rear wall and started the roof ...

the weather will dictate my work schedule, which will dictate how much progress will happen through the week....

hope to start glassing by next week...

i will have several pics missing from this build due to a cell phone fail....(aka my camera most of the time)

i have the rear wall finished with the 2"x4"s, deadener, and foam.... as well as the fleece stretched, waiting to be glassed.

the side fenders are 2/3 of the way filled up with foam....

going out with Gina tonight, might resin the fleece after we get back....

tomorrow i will be starting the side panels and running some power wire.

prayers for our iak family as there is a fair bit of us having hard times....

this cavity spans mid way of the wheel well and is being filled completly...one more application should finish this on both sides of the car

any voids were filled with foam and trimmed off before the the deadener was applied....

the deadener, peel and seal, is a workable material tha smooths out the areas some for me...it is not truly intended for actuall deademing purposes....

i have fleece stretched over this and intend on applying resin and matt....then filler to smooth it out the rest of the way....

the two cresendos came in today !

also got the Loudspeaker Design cookbook (5th edition) in this week....

if anyone ponders expanding foam next to window tint being a pass or fail scenario......

Fail!!!!

rear window now has two bubbles formed thus far from the mix....

guess i will have to vinyl over it at some point...sure not removing the wall...

frame work and sides are done for the most part......

Photo308.jpg

the fleece was applied with a mild spray adhesive and when i began to saturate it with resin it failed.....

literally about felled on on me..... ( dry sense of humour) ....

so i battled to get it to stay for a while and then removed it all with the ol razor knife before it cured all the way...

$10 for resin, $2 for fleece, $5 bucks for spray adhesive, head rush from vapors.............priceless

I will have to change my approach on rear wall...

Photo307.jpg

tomorrow might run some wires and clean on her a bit...not much planned till we go shopping again.

i just wanted to tell you this now just in case u see this before we see each other at slamology-

We both know you are not a veteran box builder, we are all here to learn from what we build and progress with each build we do next...

I am also assuming that this is your first wall and many people that do their first wall somewhat fail at properly doing it.

I even failed at my first wall somewhat on purpose because i wanted to learn what happens when running bare minimum support....

Having said this and looking at your progressive pics of this wall..

I just wanted to tell you that you are doing EXCELLENT progress, Chop.

It appears you have absorbed the proper knowledge and was able to just jump right in with no past wall experience but so far so good!

This comment should kep you motivated on top of the better weather here lately now to continue moving forward.

Feel good that you are not guessing your way through this build, you are doing it right!
