Some pictures of my first system: 4 x 12" in isobarik + 8 x 6.5" mid/bass + 4 x 3" mid and 4 x 1" tweeter`s, 5 amp\s and 1 x-over from pyramid and head unit from kenwood.

My first car, a 1986 Nissan Cherry With a Cerwin Vega Stroker 15 w/6inch aeroport, powered by a Kicker Impulse 1252i, and a Rockford Fosgate Punch 4080, 4x20W to power components:

This was in the mid/late 90s

Next car had a Soundstream Davinci amp, PG Cyclone subwoofer slotloaded in a box under the amp, and Boston Acoustics Pro 6,43 3-way components with the midbasses exchanged for Phoenix Gold qx 8" drivers:

And the first system I had in the car over here, same front stage but with Soundstream Rubicon 404 and 1002 amps, and dual Polk DB10 subs:

Random system pics and vids:

RE MT/PSI 12D1.4 and 2.2^3 @ 29Hz custom enclosure (sub and box built by BassHeadsEnt.net) on an AP18001D @ .7 w/ 2 old school 88'/89' Sony XM-5540 4 channels on mids/highs. Loved this setup!

AA Chaos 15D2 in a 2.8 @ 32Hz BHE custom enclosure on an AP15001D @ 1 ohm (800 rms sub took 2x power with ease!) was bass racin 39.9 with this setup!

2 Incriminator Audio LI 12D4's in a 3.4^3 @ 31Hz BHE custom enclosure off AP15001D @ 1 ohm.

"Inbetween systems" systems.

Box was 2.8^3 @ 36Hz built to get a higher TL score outa the AA Chaos 15/AP15001D setup but sub was sold before box was finished so I had it cut for a 12 and threw in a sub I had laying around. MOFO-12D2 V1 and AP15001D @ 1 ohm. Switched out my AP15001D for the AP18001D you seen above while I had this sub and hit a 138.x sealed up legal on the dash with a 41Hz tone iirc.

Same box, AP18001D @ 8 ohms on HFi12D4 ~350 rms, hit a 135.x sealed up legal with this on a burp, same freq iirc.

One of my very first systems, 2 Kicker CVR 12's off a kicker 400 Watt mono block, 6" comps, 6X9's, and front door comps all ran off a pioneer head unit

Then upgraded my car, decided on an audio upgrade, Kicker 600watt amp, and a Kicker L5 12"

Then I joined Audio forums and discovered what Audio is about lol. 2 Rockford Fosgate Punch 12's, Starsound 1.3 Kw amp, extra battery and 0 gauge wiring box was 5 cubic feet tuned onto 27hz

Had a little run around for a while, got me a Kicker 15" L5 for cheap so made 1 3cuft box tuned to 32 and stuck the starsound amp onto it, no pics but here's a small vid:

Then I changed car again, and got addicted to bass, so this time arouond same 5cuft box, 2 Vibe Space 12's, Hifonics 2607D, MTX roadthunder componants, Alpine 9886r HU, car deadened with Dynamat.

Then I finally took the plunge and walled the car. Completely deadened, 30mm of MDF on the roof with plenty of foam, sunroof sealed shut, 2 AA Mayhem 18's, 2 Hifonics 2607D's, Epic 160, SPL D 4 Channel amp, 2 sets of AA 7" carbon mids, 2 sets of 1" AA tweeters. This equate to 149.9 @ 32. I am currently rebuilding the box, and changing amps for something a little beefier

Of course for batteries I have nothing less than 3 XS Power D3100's

Also an Alpine PXE H-650 for telling the front end exactly what to do

Those the old pyramid super blue amps? My first amp was a 75x4....actually sounded decent for the money. Heard a rumor they were designed by PPI...no proof though... Wish I still had it for nostalgia sake, dont see them come up very often. I pushed my HARD bridged to two channels on a pair of CV 12's(yes the ones with the red surround).....fwiw...first HU was also a Kenwood....with changer control.....I thought I was so cool...lol...

Wow this brings back some memories. My first set up was a Jensen 12" from sears with the blue surround, and A REAL Lanzar Opti drive 100, All in my blown up honda accord off the battery charger! I did get an Phoenix gold M100 after that And wish i could reach my head to kick myself in it for getting rid of it. Don't have any pics unfortunatly. First car I could drive was a 72 Mercedes 220D, I had 2 Pioneer IMPPs in the grand old q logic bandpass box! run off 2 Profile california 600's audiovox 2 channel on the highs. which I believe were sony 5 1/4s and realistic tweeters in the kick panel. I was big pimpin I tell ya. Or so I thought.

Consisted of an Eclipse 5302 CD player, Kenwood KAC-723 amp (mids/highs), Kenwood KAC-823 amp (subs), MB Quart first series Discus 6.5" Components and Orion XTR 12's I think they were the 2nd gen XTRs maybe first.

Nice clean looking install....very nice for the times.....

Looks like you might have a first gen and a second gen XTR there, seems to be more writing on the subs on the left, (series2, maybe)....did you get a little heavy on the volume and toast a sub? Just curious. I had some of the first series one XTRs and they took all the power i could throw at them at the time..Orion 250HCCA @ 2 ohms....it was a SQ system, so i didnt push it too hard, but every now and then I let it fly....had a second 250 for the highs, orion nt1, 4 and 6 for front stage..... miss that system, and the taurus sho it was in....right around 94-95 as well.

Again...nice install and great looking car too.....love nissan/datsuns.....

no pics but i had a 69 dart in 98 and it had a purple urban audio tape deck and i had a prefab box with tweeters and horns built in with 2 10" just be cool subs in my back seat no amp tho had many a loud ride in that car lol

What I had in my '03 s-10 before I sold it, never took pictures after carpeting the enclosure for some reason.


 

 

System consisted of alpine cda-7998 source, JBL GTO series 75.2 and 601.1 amps, Clarion SRS 1686 components in doors, and one OZ Audio Matrix Elite 12.4 sub in 2 cubic feet tuned to 34 Hz.

Still have the alpine 7998, oz sub and clarion comps. Sold the amps though.

Same amps, and sub as above, but when I had them installed in my 92 ranger, was running JL VR 5.25 components in it, with an alpine 7897 deck at the time.

Had some issues on the paint on the front baffle were I touched it when still wet I had been drinking..LOL
