FlyBoy S10

Recommended Posts

This is just a quick post on a S10 ext. cab that my son and I help a freind put together. He already had the subs (in a not so good box sealed). He had not done anything to help the electrical, and was very shy on amp power. So we did the Big 3, gave the boxes more air space, and he purchased a pair of affordable matching amps.

Here are a few shots of the Big 3 electrical additions:

Pic of the enclosure/amp rack. FlyBoy wanted the amps to mount between the subs at an angle, so we did our best. Sorry we don't have more pics, but were not planning a build log. Did want to share a little of what we do other than huge projects.

Here are a few shots of everything installed. Turned out pretty well for minimal investment.

Sub enclosures are about 1.25net each tuned to about 33/34htz.

Subs are the Sony Xplod 330 watt

Power Acoustik Staxs Amps

Now that this is up I'll do my best to get up a vid. :peepwall:

Naw, just a hobby. Have allways loved car audio and lending a hand when I can. If you lived a little closer it would be easier. :lol2:

I may have asked before, but where do you get your carpet?

I get it at a local apolstry(spelling) in town. Non-backed and very stretchy. Easy to use, probly cheating cause it covers so well.

I somehow missed this build, enclosure / rack came out great. Looks like a mini home theater tower behind the seats :D

Just goes to show you don't need tons of money and fancy equipment to have something nice.

Thanks! The larger enclosures and being ported really made those subs shine! I'm sure the wiring upgrades helped as well.

Cannot believe I missed this build!

Great job on the the install. Everything looks great! Porting those Sony's should have made a big difference in output.

I must have snuck it in on ya!

Thanks!! He bout crapped his paints when he heard it, you are right it made a tremendous difference. They were strangled in a box that might be good for an 8" and i won't say it was sealed either.

Good looking install. I don't know if you've done this but a nice alt upgrade for those truck is switching over to the AD244 alt that came on later model truck and suburbans up to 2005 I think. They are good for 100 amps at idle and 145 at speed. :fing34:
