Single SA-12 Enclosure Request

Recommended Posts

Tried emailing you a couple times but just figured to post it up on here.

Vehicle Make and Model: 1992 Mercedes 190E

Direct of Box/Subs: Sub back, port driver side

Sealed or Ported: Ported (aeroport)

Number of Subs: 1

Brand and Model of Subs: Sundown SA-12 D2

Max Dimensions: 32w x 14d x 14h

Zip Code for Shipping Quote: 94015

Any other notes: 1.5 cubes @ 35hz. Double baffle. Can I get two quotes, one for a bare box (no carpet) and the other for the whole outside of the enclosure painted flat black.

For sub/port orientation if you have a better idea to go with, there is a rear firewall and gas tank between the trunk and rear seats but there is an opening in the rear deck for airflow. The last ported setup I had was sub/port back where it sounded the loudest and I just based this enclosure off of that, and that the aeroport would need to be on the side.

Your looking at $104 for the one with no carpet.

For the one painted matte black, did you want me to fill the staple holes etc?

Yeah, if you can fill the staple holes, etc. The finish doesnt have to be perfect, just want something other than carpet to waterproof the box and don't wanna do a bedliner because I dont like the rough texture finish.

Also, on top of the double baffle, will adding a flush mount add a significant amount to the weight? Just a thought.

Flush mount won't add too much weight since your just in daily city. You are located about an hour away from me if you wanted to come pick it up.

I would just prime it, sand it and then paint it matte black. You might be able to see where the staple holes are since the bondo will be nice and smooth while the MDF is a bit more coarse and porous and will suck up the paint like no ones business.

Ok. Flush mount sounds good too.

How much am I looking at for it to be painted matte black?

To paint it matte black I will charge $45.

So $120 for the bare enclosure

$45 to paint

Total: $165

Total with discount: $132 plus shipping.

Sounds good. I'll go with the matte black paint. Ready to get a design going.

Will it work if the areoport is coming out of the side (driver side) or can a slot port work with the dimensions?

Here is what I came up with:

1.5 cubes @ 35 Hz

14 deep

14 tall

27.875 wide

Sub back, port back (slot port)

Flush mount

Do you recommend getting a double baffle also or is the flush mount alone suitable?

Just making sure but on the invoice you sent, the dimensions say that the depth is 24 inches but it is really supposed to be 14 inches.

Just a type-o. I will go in and edit the invoice if you would like.

No editing needed, just wanted to clear up the sizing with you first before I made the deposit.
