The market for 8" drivers is so small it's pointless to offer one.

Box designs will follow, it probably wont be as low Qts as the 10" and 12" model are I believe, lending to a more average size box, compared to the smaller then average size boxes for the 10" and 12" sizes respectively.

About what size are we looking at for sealed applications?

I think I just found the driver to put in my buddies girlfriends car. ;)

This is awesome to have a 15" with 300rms.

Any ETA?

In particular considering the size of enclosure the 10's go in. I don't see the benefit or need for an 8 in car audio.

No free demos? How about just free drivers? :drink40:

:D I'm game.

Yay! How much $$$? Where's the 18"? :P
This Dcon 15 will be in the $135 to $139 range. Not the right motor for an 18" version.

If that's shipped, I'm definitely going to consider 15s for my possible next build. that's crackhead prices.

That will not include shipping.

This thing is going to be very hard to beat if it's in the 160-175 range shipped. Awesome job guys :fing34:

There is not much of a market for 8's, but based on our sales numbers alone of other brands 8's, it is silly for us not to finish the Dcon 8.

Call me stupid, but that was what I was thinking.

Indeed I think the 8" market is growing.

Indeed I think the 8" market is growing.

Well a few years ago, it was really kicking butt. Then the SMD effect took place, and it became bigger is better regardless if it is quality or not. Then recently, 8's have started to make a return to form, but are not selling any where near the numbers 18" sub woofers are.

I am working on them, and Mark will update the site once we are happy and settled on a design just like our other drivers.

Finally got a chance to wrap up the box suggestions, after much going back and forth on the larger sealed design and optimal ported:

Dcon 15"

Sealed: 2.0-3.0ft^3

Sealed Optimal: 3.25-4.0ft^3

Standard Ported: 3.0-4.0ft^3 @ 28-33hz

Optimal Ported:4.0-5.0ft^3 @ 28-33hz

I have been getting steady emails and PMs asking that. I have not had a chance or a handy install to try it IB. But based on the amount of interest we are getting for the Dcon 15 in IB, it is probably a very good chance it will be just fine.
