How to connect subwoofers

Recommended Posts

I have 2 Kickers Dual voice coil 2ohm coming tomorrow.

I see the diagram in 12volt on how to connect them at 2ohm.

However, the box they are going in has separate chambers. So how do I connect the subwoofers to each other? whats the solution to this?

Make a terminal to connect the two boxes to each other internally. I had a box that I bought used where someone actually had done that to it previously.

Connect them at the amp. Wire each sub in their chamber in series then connect them in parallel at the amp.

Ok guys, I hope this diagram helps. This is how I so far plan on install everything.

I would connect both subs from the outside of the enclosure using speaker wire and then to the amp.

Let me know if this would work! And if this is fine and no problems at all.

Rather then running the one terminals wires to the other, Id just run them to the amp. The terminals may not accept two sets very easily.

Drill a hole between the chamber for the speaker wire and seal it up with silicone.

Build a custom box with terminals (port area, tuning, and volume) that suit your needs ;)

If not, then I'm with Bromo.

So this is how you guys are telling me to do it right?

And the box is 1.67cubic ft per chamber, tuned to 33hz and it fits perfectly on my BMW. Purchased from crutchfield and has awesome reviews so Im expecting it to perform great :)

Thanks

I wanted to illustrate it rather than write a whole paragraph lol

First time I will use all 4 connections on an amp too, Im used to do all the connections inside the enclosure hahaha
