2003 toyota camry and some Fi BL's

Recommended Posts

watch your gains and you should be fine.. I'd test it out at different gains settings and see what voltage is like... That's alot of battery.. lol

Good to hear i got good battery. Its just that I asked a while ago when I was running 1 xs d3400's and my 270xp on 2.5k and i was basically called a dumbass for asking a question about that. They said i didnt have enough. It was on these forums so I wanted to be safer than sorry. I'm still learning..... :snipersmilie:

In a perfect world you should have enough electrical.. but like I stated.. test with gains settings.. I'd try with almost lowest point and play full tilt after running the car for at least 30min.. Record vdrop... Then up to the point you "think" you'd like ... Record vdrop in same manner.

He'll be fine easily. Does your voltage sit at the 14.9 range with that XP series? If so, you'll rarely ever see below 14.0V.

not always true, we can't assume that he will.. There are quite a few threads with people having high output alternators asking why they are getting low voltage... so let's test and see? theoretically it is more than enough... but remember he has vehicle requirements and other factors that we might NOT know.. But lets hope he drops that all in and can stay at 14v+ at full tilt...

I have my fingers crossed for you OP, as I have the same vehicle but will be installing a MechMan alternator soon... YIPPEE!!!

I do know his vehicle requirements, considering I have the exact same car. My aq 3500.1 with my 220a mechman and xs d2400 and two deka 9a31s never sees below 13.0, usually never 13.3. His electrical is a fair bit more stout with a more efficient amp.

Man thanks thats really relaxing to know that. Box started today over at a shop near me. If they do a good job then I'll post they're name on here but they've already messed up once. This is their second chance. I'm confident they will do a good job on it. Its the owner of the shop building it now when before it was his installer. Bad experience with the first one but I have faith in the guy.

I hope you're actively involved in the design of your box and build. I know all about how the camry works now and some listening scenarios are clearly better than others as well as meter score. I'm not shooting you down at all, but don't expect good numbers in this car. To the ear, assuming your build and box is nice, its going to sound great and get loud. It will do pretty poorly on the mic unfortunately, these cars suck for that.

why is it that camry's dont get loud? I've heard other people make that comment before.. sucks cause it would have been nice to put it in a couple a comps. I dont want to get embarrased out there.

Some cars just don't get loud. Could anyone explain why CRXs/Pandas/Blazers get loud easily? Or why Tahoes are air machines? For the Camry, the sunroof doesn't really affect things, except not sure if your BLs will do this but my BTLs did it and is now getting the other side just as bad:

Me and a few guys have tried a variety of ways to get the Camry loud. The loudest we've seen yet was a 145.x in sub/port back orientation on 7kw. I'm doing a 144.0 with you saw in the video on 4kw. I also am not sure what his rise was, but it probably wasn't as bad as mine and I only get 1kw out of my amp on burps. Subs up with port to the side works decent. But combined with both of our experiences, subs/port forward sealed from the trunk is the loudest on the mic. Also, a guy had a single 18 on 2kw, sub up port x?x and only did a 141-142. It's just unfortunate but still compete and have fun with it.

Where did you get that flex wrap!?!?! I want some!

Not sure if that question was directed to me but if it was its called techflex and you can find it at numerous online dealers but I personally found it cheapest at wirecare.com...... hopefully this helps:)

Got damn i sure hope that dont happen to my car. As much as it sucks to say it thats impressive to show what your subs did to your sunroof.

nice work... template for the trunk opening??? I haz the same exact car.....

box was put in in three pieces. All assembled inside the car.... Had it made at a local shop but they were cool enough to let me kick it around the shop the whole day it was being built. Got my hands dirty too.

I'd prefer to see them here. What's a build log for anyway? :P
