So I've decided to finally start this build after procastinating and having some free time here at work. Equipment list is as follows:

Pioneer AVH-4300DVD

Boss REV-655 (Mids/High)

AQ1200D (Sub)

IA I series Coaxial (rear)

IA I series Components (front)

10" SSA Icon D2

DC Creations Enclosure (Coming Soon)

47 Feet of Welding cable (Awaiting Shipment)

3 15 Feet Monoprice RCA's

100 Feet of 12 gauge Monoprice Speaker Wire

This is a on going project that would soon lead to for some more serious output, but this will get me through till then. I will keep my plannings under wrap to keep the suspense and will reveal whatever shows up at the door :peepwall: . But for now, I will show pics! Sorry for so many, I tend to be a camera whore lol

And thats where I am as of this moment, again, sorry for so many pictures lol, all was taken with my Kyocera Echoe. Right now, my new cable is in the mail, 15 pounds worth lol. And enclosure is being designed by DC Creations, so just waiting on those two things at this moment.

But for a quick review of where everything stands right now, watching Transformers in here sounds fucking amazing. Once I get the sub in there, it will definately be better than going to the movie theatre for sure. It gets so loud in here now and I'm glad I can finally hear the words with minimal distoration at high levels. I would like to thank edouble and Sean DeYoung for their amazing contribution :fing34:

On a side note:

Heres me slaving 12 hour shifts at work

Seems I left out a few...

Do NOT ever buy speaker adapter from Sonix Electronix, I would only recommend Car-Speaker-Adapter.com

Sen I think the IA's just seem to be a little bigger. I got adapters from car speaker adapters and I ended up having to dremel out quite a bit to get the IA's to fit.

Otherwise looking good so far.

They are a bit larger than normal, but atleast with car speaker adapters you have the option to dremel an opening where as these POS is just cheap plastic and aren't no where near user friendly. Thanks for the kind words :drink40:

Thanks Stefan, yeah, I like em, will be upgrading these as well, but curious to know how these will sound once sub is installed.

yes very nice. let me know how you feel about the ia comps.

Thanks :drink40:

I like them a lot. Especially with good audio recordings and DVDs. Sound really clean and loud to say the least lol, especially once I took the time to tune the amp. Very pleased plus the price was a bonus.

It's coming along nicely. Cool pics showing a bit of what you do for a living. That cat looks a bit heavy, or did the camera add 10 lbs? lol

Got some more pictures to post today :eek5wavey:

Began Very shiddy box build today. I've made some contact with DC Creations, I guess they have a lot on their plate ATM, so this box sole purpose was to be a fill in till their enclosure gets here.

IMG_20120110_031646.jpg

And then the new power cable showed up today, I'm very pleased :D

IMG_20120110_150053.jpg

The below picture is my attempt to fix this phreaking engine noise that I've been having. At first, it wasn't too bad, and then I set my gains by ear, and it was very present. So I shaved some paint for the ground of the amp, and done the following to the headunit with that wire sticking out to a ground behind the head unit and OMG, it made it even worse, so right now I have no idea what to do :(

IMG_20120109_150622.jpg

I'm guessing maybe I need to get another wire and attach the wire that is going around the rca's to the frame of the HU?? I'm not really sure what could help at this point. But, besides that, this is where I stand, I will probably run the new wire tommarrow, and through this shiddy box in lol

for your engine noise, try ground the black wire in your harness directly to a metal bracket behind your dash. my blazer was horrible with alternator whine, once i grounded it to the airbag bracket my noise went away completely.

great products btw

Ok so yesterday I got some more mail, and today. Yesterday I recieved my welding cable and jesus, this wire is unlike anything I have ever seen before. Even a 10 ft cut weighs a ton lol. Well here are some pics.

IMG_20120110_150019-1.jpg

IMG_20120110_150053-1.jpg

Note* I also picked up some copper terminals, super duper heavy duty these phuckers are.

IMG_20120110_150033-1.jpg

The completed box...

IMG_20120110_225442.jpg

IMG_20120111_004922.jpg

The wire is thicker than my fingers lol

IMG_20120111_004936.jpg

Ok, now for the story, opening the package for the terminals, I wondered, HTF am I gonna crimp these :trippy: ? They are sooo thick, and just, seem unmoveable. So I found a solution, instead of ordering a 400$ crimper, I used some tool, (don't know the name), and a hammer. The pictures will help explain my method which turned out really great actually and I am very satisfied with the results.

IMG_20120111_004435.jpg

IMG_20120111_002839.jpg

IMG_20120111_002920.jpg

IMG_20120111_001348.jpg

Heat Wrap, don't work so well with a normal hair dryer :excl:

IMG_20120111_002416.jpg

So I decided to double wrap :ghost:

IMG_20120111_003303.jpg

And here I layed out the big 3 :woot: 1 feet, 3 feet and 6 feet

IMG_20120111_143739.jpg

And a quick local stop to AutoZone I upgraded the terminals. Do have a problem though, the postive post of this daily battery is larger than the negative post. The problem this causes is that the new terminals won't snuggly fit on the negative post, so right now, its on there, but isn't tight at all  (Yes thats what she said I know), so any opinion on how to fix this?

IMG_20120111_163753.jpg

IMG_20120111_214745.jpg

In the morning, I will complete the big 3 withte positive run. Ran out of time today unfortunately :(

Here is the ground I used, its the same one that Ford used. I just sanded down to the metal.

IMG_20120111_170901.jpg

IMG_20120111_171615.jpg

And the package today was just my voltmeter that was already dead on with no need to calibrate :woot:

IMG_20120111_130519.jpg

Thats it for today :drink40:

I tried the same thing and it made it 100% worse lol. Some cars all run to the same ground, I know a lot of ford cars are like that. Personally I would make an independent ground.
