2- IB315 in the trunk

Recommended Posts

Arc Amps never fail whenit comes to control over things. Looks great, I also 2nd that photo looks titts

I think the P99RS and the KS900.6 will be a winning combo

Too overwhelming for me! But if your into that stuff, I know you will spend hours tweaking. The main reason I have avoided the 100% SQ route is simply becuase I find it overwhelming. Also, practically ever song you play, or I play from my ipod will come from a different source. What this means is, every song that I play, I will be forced to make some kind of minor tweak, to achieve the same SQ as the song before. But thats just me.

or you could just be tuning like 3-4 frequencies for the most part... taper off the highs/tone them down and +/- bass .... getting the right tuning off of what you REGULARLY listen to is the best idea if it is solely for your enjoyment and not a judges.

I have a couple tools to help me with tuning.

Dayton Audio EMM-6 microphone, Art preamp, TrueRTA software and a collection of Autosound 2000 tuning CD's. There are many useful tuning techniques discussed over on DIYMA that I will be exploring as well.

My goal is to have the best soundstage possible.

I have always dreamed of having excellent stereo imaging and a deep/wide soundstage in a vehicle. Gonna give it hell!

So I have been debating on weather or not to run the RS100T full range without a tweeter. I could mount two per side in the a-pillars.

OR

I could do a MTM setup in the a-pillars......

I swapped out my RS180-4 for RS225-4. Midbass output should be plentiful :)

RS180-4 on left, RS225-4 on the right

Have you read of others being able to use them full-range? Of course on on-axis.

On the other hand, I would definitely wonder how a mid, tweeter, mid arrangement in a car would do. :D

Would be a waste of the P99RS and KS900.6 to run a two way front stage.

I think a MTM is in order!

looks more and more interesting

I am leaning more and more towards a variance of a MTM setup in the a-pillars. Probably gonna happen :)

No doubt man. We can get together to tune your setup as well.

The plan of attack thus far (hahaha I used thus)

1. Drop headliner to fix broken roof brace

2. Gut out interioir

3. Install P99RS

4. Install KS900.6

5. Aim the RS100T-8's in the a-pillars

6. 'Glass the RS100T's

7. Aim the RS28F-4's

8. 'Glass the RS28F-4's

9. Build door pods for the RS225-4's

10. Tune!

Hopefully have 1-5 done by Easter Monday.

A couple helpful fellas on another forum pionted out that my port opening was too close to the bottom wall Doh.gif I had 3" of clearance.

So, to my dismay I took the enclosure apart and squeezed another 1" of clearance for a total of 4". Not too sure it will help any but hopefully it is good enough for my goals.

SCREEN-3944.jpg

After more research and better judgement, I decided that an aero end was necessary on both ends of the port. Test fitting the flared aero on the rear deck.

SCREEN-3945.jpg

After literally hours of test fitting, trimming and test fitting, I finally have the rear deck cover modded for the port. I will be making a trim piece out of floral foam and carpet to make it look better.

I received my alt back from Excessive Amperage. For no charge he modified the alt for an external regulator and supplied the regulator!

Once that trim piece is in for the aero, that's going to look sick. ;)

Under the front seats. I will be making a false floor for rear seat passenger's feet.

I have another D3400 that will be mounted in the trunk.
