Which subs?

I think you mean what amp? I don't think I've used anything other than 12ga. Whether at 3000 watts or 1000.

I apologize. It just occurred to me that you could be concerned with fitment into terminals rather than amperage loads!

My friend found a guy that bought the 8 gauge from him. He asked me and i told him sell it because It might not work for me. So I'm thinking of going 10 or 12 gauge. The inputs on my amp look tiny. If I get 12 gauge I could do double runs it I can get them to fit. I'm not worried about the subs fitting just the amp.

All I'm concerned about is fit. Along as it fits in the terminals I'm golden

I might have missed it, but what amplifier are you using?

This is quite useless. Do any of you realize how small the wire is that makes up your voice coil?

My guess would be something like 24awg

But if he wants it to fit directly into his amp without any shaving or any reducers, which he appears to want, then I'm all for helping him out.

Personally, I would have taken the free wire and just shaved it down...

I don't want to do any shaving mainly because I don't know how. Like you said I just want something that fits in the amp.

Does that mean you have to use the same guage wire as speaker wires?

Do you know the size of the wire inside of your alt? Then why would you ever need 0guage wire? ;)

The subs voicecoil has cooling built in and it has no plastic to melt.

I asked Geoff https://www.facebook.com/AudioAnonymous?ref=ts about cramming 2 wires into the speaker terminals and he sent me these DUAL 8ga inputs. He custom makes anything to fit anything, reducers of all sizes, whatever. The link is his fb page and this is his online store http://teamprojectdb.com/ . The facebook is the best way, and if he has any questions, or you have any, you can talk it out! He has been in the game for a while and seen it all! Good stuff!

Not all woofers have cooling built in, that was extremely rare some years ago.

Typically the longer the wire is the bigger I like it, the shorter it doesnt matter much. Its not gonna be a big deal either way

I have the same amp, 12 gauge is a good fit. Might be able to squeeze 10 gauge if you tried.

Why do you need to go bigger than 12gauge?

Well it appears like it's too late, but for next time... it's about as simple as can be. Take the wire. Take a utility knife/razor blade. Start hacking at it until it fits.

Simple! :)

Your point?

The filament inside a light bulb is tiny but you don't see me wiring a light socket with telephone wire.

Hello everyone, long time no see. I am selling a pair of Dual 2-ohm (technically D1.7) 12" Sundown X v.2's built by Dave Leib a.k.a "Strongman Designs."
Reason I am selling them is because I realized upon testing to see if my digital multi-meter was working correctly that one of the coils is reading higher on the one sub indicating that too much heat had been applied to it recently so rather than risking any further damage to it I am going to assume that I have too much power for these.
Having said this in all honesty, let me make it perfectly clear here that both subs are still in perfect working order as we speak, even the one that is reading differently. Had I not thrown my multi-meter on it to test it in order to see if it was working properly (the multi-meter itself) I would have never known there was any difference or discrepancy between the two.
However, because one of them is reading off now and I do not know what is to be expected out of it's performance long-term I will be letting these go for $500+ shipping (that includes both).
Any further questions or concerns please feel free to text me at 440-915-2309
      Phil
