i dont want to lose my A/C to run a 2nd alt any help?

Recommended Posts

YO, I am getting ready to set up a dual alt in my 2001 chevy astro van but the last few days alone it has been 90+ degrees so i am very indifferent about getting rid of my A/C if anyone knows of anyone that was able to keep A/C and run multiple alts please share.

I am willing to get rid of my belt driven fan and go electric as well as add cold air intake to free up space in front of the belt and pulley area if anyone knows a way to Fab up something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get rid of the fan anyways, add the electric fan, fab up a mount and drive attachment to the water pump and bam.

If you want them in the back, run them off the driveshaft or pinion.

Call Ohio, if anyone has experience with multiple alternators in Astros it will be them.

Scottie Johnson used to have 1 or 2 Astros too (XS Power). I do not know if he ever had any upgraded alts on it or not but worth a shot.

Considering the amount of power he ran I have to imagine he had multiple alts.

He had 128,000w of power on 50+ Optimas.. but i "think" he always ran with the vehicle OFF...

However, people like him who run vehicle off could also of had multi alts for advertising and cosmetic purposes.

Pretty sure he didn't have air conditioning or even drive the van. This guy is looking for a REAL WORLD replacement, not something used in competition lanes.

The compromises we make for car audio. People make funny ass faces when you try to explain some of the stuff we do.
