Recommended Posts

Hey may be a dumb question but does the power handling differ from the original specs with the xmax coil and the cooling package added to the sub??? its the n2

No. The cooling only allows you to bang longer w/o the sub getting hot as quickly & contributing to failure. (Good choice for daly). All Fi's are underrated, but fully loaded will allow you to push the envelope a little further.

I would highly suggest just go ahead and grab the fully loaded options. If you are pondering wether its worth it or not, it is. Just wait a few more weeks if money is tight atm. Its well worth it.

I am wondering if a fully loaded BL 12 can take 2,500 watts daily??

If its in a trunk I probably wouldnt want to, harder to tell if its getting very hot or starting to smell maybe till its too late.

Play it safe and dont run over RMS in a trunk, but that just my opinion.

Thats over double the rms daily. I wouldn't do more than 2k daily.

Try it. It'll tell you when it's about to blow up.

It'll be extremely hot, sound like ass, stink like burning plastic, and smoke. So if you notice any of those then turn the volume down.

If i keep the gains down on the amp it should play fine though right? I just know with one 2500-1 amp i am under powering them.

Why? Save a little and get a BTL. No reason to put that much stress on a sub. It's rated for 1k for a reason.

Just because one person was able to put a million watts to a sub doesn't mean you will be able to as well. It's going to depend on the install; the box, how hard they play it, how long they did, etc. Also, just because an amp is rated at 2.5k watts doesn't mean that's what the sub is seeing. How do you know how much the sub is seeing? You don't, especially listening to music on a "daily" system.

After all displacements, yes they would work just fine.
