Sundown X-15 Video on SAZ-3500D

Recommended Posts

"This is our upcoming 1250 RMS line being tested free air with nearly 3x their rated power level -- I took it up a bit too far just as an example =) This was taken with a bit newer camera than previously used -- Canon Powershot Elph 16.1MP. The excursion looks a little weird in this video compared to other videos so not sure which camera I'll keep using in the future -- but hope you all enjoy !"

From the video caption.

really, really wish the 18's had the new frames. might just have to wait till they do. i don't want to buy the 18's and a few months later the new frames come out or buy the 15's and be unhappy because i didn't get the 18's.

Because there is no release date yet, read a few post above when he answered the question for you earlier in the thread.

You won't see the 18" frames in a few months. Perhaps around the end of 2013.

Sorry for the noob question, but what is the advantages of the 18" frames to come later?

On the X line -- nothing really; and I may leave them alone with the 6-spoke and spider adapter.

The tooled 18" frame will support even larger spiders and will also be a much stronger frame (for our heavier lines). The 257mm spider on our tooled adapter on the 6-spoke is more than enough for the X woofer.

@ 1:19  and 1:23, is that sound the sub bottoming out?

How did you get such awesome excursion? i thought sundown subs

take a while to break in b4 you can hammer them like that.

is the stitching on sundown subs just 4 show?

thanks

no, it bottoms out at aroind 2:20 in the video. he got so much excursion by using larger spiders and larger surrounds, i also believe he used a longer coil. the stitching is not just there for looks.

Good to know. It's going to be hard for me to decide on X or Z for my next build :)
