New Mustang does a killer BMW impression.  So much so I would actually prefer to drive one over the equivalent BMW.

Of course then the problem of interior pops up.  If they got smart and made a 4 door Mustang with the guts of a Lincoln I'd buy one.  Obviously Ford thinks I am the only one.

GO drive a new Civic Si or especially the Type R.  They're amazing machines.

I agree with you on the engine, but only on the engine.  The rest of the German will fall apart around it.  The Honda, not so much.  Well, at least the ones in the last 15 years or so.  Older ones rust quicker than rust.

I hated the type R, got to spend a week with my assistant managers. I shouldn't say hated.  I just thought it was less exciting and less comfortable and less solid than the other cars at it's price.

I'm also not shaped for that small of a car.  His had as many problems as the 550.  Just cheeper to fix.  Kinda.  My CPO covered more.

He traded it in for a Miata.

Easy to make something little feel good...until you are big and sit in it.

I’d be scared to death driving my Mustang in the winter. lol

On a serious note I’m sure the BM’er was engineered with better weight distribution than any RWD I personally have driven in inclement weather.

I had a hemi charger in CT for 20 days and everyone thought I was nuts when I said it felt slow.

The transmission was soooooooooo bad.  I did have fun spinning the rear tires though.

Hahaha

The scariest winter car I drove was an auto tranny oldschool nissan Z car.  Don't remember the number but it was the wedge style.

Ha, my first car was a 1968 Galaxie 500 XL with a built 390.  Drove that in winter.  Lived in Fargo/Moorhead as well which meant that there was little to no salt and lots of slip.  Sideways EVERYWHERE!

It has pockets of not slow...in between gear changes when the motor is at an rpm it finally makes power.

Galaxie has some weight though, so it's much better suited for traction.

He's got no hope in the Stang unless he starts transporting whales.

Mine with me and full gas was under 3800lbs...which is about the weight of a new Mustang.  The balance and weight over the rear tires was non-existent and the 285's in the rear didn't help either.

Gen 1 Mustangs don't quite measure up to the S550s in terms of weight.

I missed the "my" in Mustang.  Thought he was referring to me driving a new one.

I wouldn't drive anything old in the snow again...but when I was 16 it is what I had.

Is with a heavy heart I’m letting everyone know that Mr. Alton passed away this morning. He had been struggling with health issues and lost the fight.
