So of course the time that I really want to be somewhere is the time I get stuck somewhere.

Friends teased that they would drove the 3 hours to pick me up and then backed out right before I cancelled my ticket.

Because I work in the Maritime industry I claim a per diem also.  It's 87 bucks a day in my area.

Claiming something that doesn't change the amount you pay in isn't worth claiming.

So where you stuck at?

Dallas, did get a "free" hotel, $12 toward dinner and $7 toward breakfast tomorrow (AKA Starbucks in the airport.

Should have listened to you, as I flew to "save time".

Time to spare... Fly by air, right?

Trying out sleeping less, instead of 10+ hours on weekends. I've had mild success with ~6 hours compared to when I sleep more, with bigger cycles I just end up being slightly tired most of the day and yawning.

Maybe I am hitting some sleep cycle and that fucks up my day.

Not always, but International has priority.  Take the short stint first in that case.  I periodically have to book layovers due to cost, but I normally schedule them in a safe way.

First week tracking my gas mileage......16.8mpg, mostly highway sad.png

Need a more fuel efficient vehicle, bad.  Switching to something that gets mid 20's would save me $1500/yr in gas.

I managed 27 on mountain roads and loaded (3 people and luggage) going to the ski resort, quite impressed.

Going for a bit of an overhaul on the bike:
New front and rear shifters (got lucky and found both NOS for peanuts on ebay)

Better brakes and shiny new brake pads

New brake levers (so I can move these to my old bike and get that functional again)

New rear cassette and new chain.

And I almost fucked my rear rim because one of the pads wore out completely. There is a big valley in the middle of the braking surface all the way around :(
