Boat was shiny and mint when it went in the lake. Floating in the direct Sun will take its toll on shit. I am amazed the 11 year old JL car speakers are still alive in the bar....you can tell from the fading that is exactly how it floats

Machined

Polished

Chromed

Black - gloss and matte

Gray

Are the choice. Means my choices are gloss black or chrome looking at my truck and I am sure any chrome wheel will flake here quick

Is the polished clear coated? If so, that's what I would opt for personally. If not, I'd still go that route and clear them myself or have a local shop clear them. Shouldn't be more tham $100. Just my personal choice though.

Interesting.  Will that actually allow them to hold up?  All sorts of german cars here with peeling clear.

And they aren't...and are $300 more, but if it held up it would be worth it.  I figured the painted would be psuedo indestructible from the elements.

And of course that style is not available in polished.  Originally what I had ordered in the wheels I have instead of chrome, just figured they'd do it on these too.  I only changed my order since they were 3 months out at that point.  Probably the same here.

It really depends on what is used for clear. Of course anodized would be best, followed by clear coat, electrostatic/heat cured paint, and traditional 2K clear paint. The last is cheapest and easiest, and think about how durable your clear coat on your vehicle is.

Much like anything else, prep before application is key, and maintaining the finish once cured as well. If you get flaking, it's mostly due to poor preparation and application such as many manufacturers learned in the early to mid 90s.

Used anything like this before?

http://www.amazon.com/Gates-91006-Serpentine-Belt-Alignment/dp/B000WYFI1A

Laser on a shark to align my belt

Why would you have a misalignment? Something worn or broke?

No idea, but I've mulched a belt per tank of gas on the last two tanks.

Sounds like you may have an idler going bad and pitching when you get on it.

In my nerdy time I have been wanting to buy one of these and make my little buddy Gavin some armor to wear.

....they are all new and freshly inspected.

Thinking it may be the spring mechanism in the tensioner.  If it relaxed a little then bam...or something like that.  I need some energy to go out and yank it all off AGAIN.

When I replaced mine it was a fun adventure on the 4runner, but worth it.

Wait, wah?

I can take that 4ft doll and cut it apart to make stormtrooper armor to fit a child of similar size.

A friend did did one for his son and it turned out awesome for $99 vs $650.

Mine takes about 30 seconds to put on and that is only because it has memory from being cramped in the cardboard sleeve.  Otherwise, probably a 5 second manuver to put it on.

A morph suit with the head cut off. The armor screws together and you modify to fit the body and attach with Velcro  to hold in the right position.
