Depends on the location but usually it is. We have a ton of readybuilt shops in the state which can bring the price down lower.

The fad right now is for a developer to buy large plots then build a "subdivision" of multi-acre homes.

5-6 homes on 20-100 acres, typically.

Builders do the same here, and those prices are of course cheaper than building yourself as well.

I really, really, ridiculously hate finish work. And prospective home buyers who demand every detail about the finish work only to ridicule it because that's not what they would have chose.
