Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Oh how I love when the bosses decide that I will have 2 buildings done in the time that 1 is allotted.  Especially when the second building doesn't need material for 2 years.  Sure I can do double the work in the same time and still run SSA for no pay check haha.

I have the same car (different color wheels) in my backyard, storing it for a friend. It has a tune but I don't quite like the car.

That LS swap thingy would be nice, we can get cheap RX8's here.

The budget and administration department actually likes RX8's and was convinced to agree to the purchase of a Comanche for going off-road. So I assume that a V8 RX8 wouldn't be too much of a hassle to get approval.

Come on now.  In America, bigger is better!

In no other country do trucks outsell cars.  In no other country do they have the societal/ego/esteem/material issues the US suffers from.  Ah, fuck, I'll stop there.

Daily I see roads crowded with pickups with empty beds and large SUVs occupied by only the driver.   The pickup market is flooded by 6.5' beds and crew cabs.  They're nothing more than people haulers and status symbols anymore.

We are starting to get that with SUVs. I still really really want a kei car for city driving.

As for large displacement vs. smaller boosted displacement, that decision was made with out us a while ago.  Engines are getting smaller for EPA regulations.  But the power they are doing is getting nutty.  Focus RS for example.  But the whole increased strain on parts and complexity of the engines does concern me as potential reliability cannot truly be improving.

BUT!!!! they are now realising that the small boosted engines (like Renault's 0.9 tce) are actually worse in the emissions department in day-to-day driving. That's because the tests for the emissions numbers happen in a pretty narrow operating conditions interval. So some european manufacturers don't want to take part in the downsizing.

From the base of the curb to the top of the curb.  TheIS scrapes a pinch if I back out when I actually get to park in the driveway.

Just wear it down :D

Ah, I just remembered, the RX8 diff ratios are really high (numerically) so it would be interesting to see how an LS swap works. The Miata crowd goes for 3.6 and even lower for LS swaps. The RX8 has 4.77 IIRC.

Still, very tempting, especially in the context of owning a nice car with a V8.

Once I can get $10k for the Miata, I'd do it.

Really?  I haven't seen that...yet.  Interesting for sure.

Well, I spent almost 3 months total in Renault's engine/emissions development facility. Why do you think I go to France so often? :D

Bleh, I'm almost married, less than a year to go until the wedding.

Plus whenever I'm in France I work until I fall asleep and repeat the next day.
